Rodrigo seems a similar discussion to Harrison. Can't change too much too soon. I don't think he fits the system but since he has him Jesse has to use him. Key man in the dressing room. I suppose he's useful up front if Bamford is injured. But if Bamford starts, I'd put Rodrigo on the bench.
I'd have sold in the summer.
He is our highest earner and is miles off justifying it.

Yeah, Rodrigo is another that should've been gone. Minibus for the old guard.
I think Brendan is a quality player, but he's not got quality around him. He's also a bit lightweight and as such still coming to terms with the physicality of our game. Not helped by refs letting the opposition away with thuggery against him.
He will get better.
Adams is brilliant and Roca has done well and both seem to revel in the physicality.

Brenden Aaronson ran 13.2km yesterday against Liverpool, the most distance covered by a player in a Premier League match this season.

I guess I posted that stat in the wrong thread. Thanks for reposting here.
Brenden made an appearance on the MEN IN BLAZERS show here in the USA. Roger Bennett is the host. Some good stuff and I really hope this link works in the U.K.

He certainly has. The new recruits have all fitted in well and are taking us forward. We just need more of the same recruited asap.
Every signing we made in the summer has been a success. Hope we can continue to do the same.

Thanks for sharing Paul. I almost turned off when I saw "Speonsored by Budweiser."
Some interesting points:
Wasn't doing a "no look" when he scored against Chelsea. He was looking over his shoulder to make sure nobody was closing him down.
Sees himself as a box 2 box midfielder. A number 8. I made the same suggestion earlier this week His work rate fits it well.
He's still got the photo of Tracy Chapman. So maybe it wasn't a joke against Tyler Adams
We could very well see Brendon in the #8 spot for USA in the World Cup. He played that position in our recent friendly against Morocco and looked good. McKennie is injured and might not be ready. Although he is a freak of nature when it comes to healing injuries so you never rule him out until he's out. The other choices would probably be Kellen Acosta, Luca De La Torre (Injured), or Christian Roldan.
Is he getting a bit of an easy ride because he works so hard?
An attacking midfielder whose only managed 1 goal and 1 assist despite being a regular set piece taker and regularly in attacking positions and playing more minutes than almost everyone.
Less than 50% of his shots his the target.
Harrison gets tons of criticism (deserves it)but Aaronson doesn't.
Is he getting a bit of an easy ride given for all his effort there is a lack of substance?

Don't think we use him well. In a congested midfield he needs more space, quality is clearly there

He made his name in this system though.
If anyone should be able to make it work then he should.
His end product was suspect even in Austria.
Well I guess we'll see, my #1 in my combined POTS rankings so there's that. The assist stat is laughable, he's been involved with lot of goals including the pen today

I think it's because he's new to the league. But I agree, he needs to start adding more goals and assists.

It's a fair question. He sort of passes the eye test for me. But the productivity is really not there yet. Brendon has always been the guy that makes the unlocking pass which allows another player to make the assist. If 2nd assists were awarded like they are in Ice Hockey he would show up on the score sheet much more often. If that analogy makes sense.
This week he stated that he see's himself as a #8 box to box midfielder. With Roca's recent performances, I wonder what Aaronson would look like in that spot? He has a much better engine than Roca and would cover more ground. But we would need a CAM to replace him.
