If we roll up at Norwich like that they will beat us easily, a League Two side would beat a team performing like that, Crawley did it in the Cup last season, we didn't even give them a match.
Against Southampton we still had several experienced players who are currently, or have, represented their national sides: Llorente, Cooper, Dallas, Klich, Rodrigo, so what did they offer in terms of leadership, or will to win? Zero, nothing. That was one gutless, spineless, abject performance.
Only teams that get relegated put in performances like that.
We can point to the absence of:
Ayling - he's been rank terrible so far this season, apart from that goal at OT
Koch - I don't think he plays ahead of Llorente anyway, he's a decent CB, but always injured
Firpo - looked a bit better recently, but still finding his feet and another one injured
Phillips - he's often unavailable, but at the moment is all we have in midfield, even when he played this season there were still gaping holes in center midfield
Raphinha - On of the best players in the world and often seems like our only creative forward. Why drag him to Southampton to watch that shower of
Bamford - he embarrasses Rodrigo and Roberts with his work ethic, finishing and physicality, can hold the ball and bring others in, always gives it his 100%
MB and these players need to put this right starting on Saturday, and that won't be easy against a Wolves side that has found fresh impetus with a new coach, and just won three on the bounce, the last of which was a rousing derby victory at Villa, they'll be on a real high.
