The point of a bigger squad should mean we have more depth and can rotate players but still have the talent required. So in my view players like Jimmy, Darko, Sonny, Archie and Sam etc should integrate in cup games and time off the bench to continue gaining the experience they need, but this does not mean we do not take these Competitions seriously. In the old days Leeds would have won much more silverware if we had another half a dozen quality players to ease the burden, and last season we almost went down due to lack of squad numbers due to injuries.
I wonder if Summerville will be happy with that. He wanted to leave in January to get first team football. If he's not making the bench every week, I think he might need a loan move.

Dan James is the best right winger we have. And since Marsch plays a narrower system, Aaronson is the next option. I don't see how Summerville gets regular playing time. Unless we take the rumored money for Harrison.

Bit of additional information.

He seems to have taken a new shirt number.

Very surprised by this but does presumably show his standing in the squad now.

The pressure will be immense wearing that shirt

Nice to see the three young lads being tied down. Now they can show us what they are made of.

Didn't Summerville fall out with Marcelo, or was that just a rumour?

Wow, he gets the #10?! I bet that was the clincher on the contract negotiation. Now it's Summerville's turn to show us what he can do. Clearly going to get some minutes this season.

I know Marsch likes his narrow formation, but perhaps he really does have a plan B using width and wingers which will please me immensely.

All I know is he was rumoured to be part of the U23 rebellion about their opportunities with Leeds under MB where Drameh ended up forcing a loan. I seem to remember Summerville walked out and took a trip back to Holland or something like that. I could also be completely wrong so I'm happy to stand corrected.

Certain players maybe didn't respond well to Bielsa's sergeant major keep your distance approach.

Summerville has had his discipline issues before (got his brother to beat up a teammate back in Holland).

Maybe Marsch's arm round the shoulder great bunch of young men giz a cuddle approach suits him better?

Could be something in that, Cjay, different players respond to different "encouragements". Key is knowing who will respond to a kick up the arse and who needs a pat on the bum and a "well done"

Could these three signing be the dopamine kick we all need to deflect from anymore signings or even worse a late sale of Harrison? I am surprised to be honest with all the wingers we have and the possibility of not using them. He must have been given some assurances. Great for the club tho cos i think the kid with a solid run of games can be another game changer coming on late. I think the 5 subs may have had a big influence on his decision to sign.

I agree the 5 sub rule will be a big game changer, and will influence the introduction of more opportunities for the youth players.

Big chance for Summerville now you'd feel.

Given Raph's number.

Given a new deal.

James gone.

Feels like this is now his opportunity.

Sinisterra will fill James spot and we have Aaronson to play out wide too.

But can see Summerville in a Gelhardt role now - getting off the bench almost every game

It's now or never. He won't stick around for another year without any game time.
