It was even more enjoyable given the ponsy way he took it.

Personally I think there should be rules for penalty takers. Keepers have restrictions and have to stay on their line - though they can now move along it - but I think penalty takers should have to take a direct run at the ball, no stopping or arcing around or any crap like that.
Un Marcelo Bielsa, solo hay un Marcelo Bielsa. Gracias Marcello. Marsching on together.

Totally agree with this. It's far too easy for the taker to just wait until the keeper makes his move. Any messing about by the taker should be penalised and the penalty is forfeited.

Make it look easy don't they?
Marsch OUT

Football has undergone a process of bielsification; pressing and possessing, passing rather than dribbling, intercepting high up the field rather than making last-ditch tackles, are in vogue.

Marcelo Bielsa. The light that will never go out.

3rd in the second tier ... decent season in the end from them but don't see them getting much higher next season

I really don't want to experience another season like this one, Jay

Injuries.
Too many defeats.
Conceded far too many goals.
Far too many missed chances in front of goal.
Opposition had the record amount of shots at our goal.
Majority of goals conceded down to our own errors.
Reliant on Raphinha in an attacking sense for much of the season.
Inadequate midfield (the spine of any team)
No sufficient back up in key positions.
Lack of those dream goals on the break.
Playing a winger as a No.9.
Playing Ayling as a CB when there is absolutely no need to.
Making four positional changes because of the wrong substitution.
Two doubles all season, against the bottom two teams Watford & Norwich, says it all
Far too many poor/average performances.
Writing was on the wall early doors
The football we've played is nowhere the level of last season or when we were in the championship (different level of course)

Just hope Radz & Co have learned their lessons from what has been a fiasco of a season

I believe they'll finish higher with their moneybags board.

I'm flabbergasted how well they've done when you consider the position the barcodes were in, of course we kick-started their progress

It’s a long list of woe that’s for sure. If it comes down to Brentford then they’ll give us f**k all. Proof if proof were needed we need safety confirmed before then

I do believe well acquire the necessary points before our visit to Brentford.

Was that Pontus who shackled Harry Kane out of the game?

I'm not so sure... if you were world class would you want to play Champions league or upper mid table football for a season first with no guarantee at roughly the same salary.. Newcastle will have to break salary records in my opinion to get players up there of the quality needed.. on top of transfer fees... maybe looking at half a billion needed to compete

Yes, the C/B we had when we last had a decent defence ( sticking plaster solution loan signings excluded )

Yes.100%. Gave him next to nothing. You’d be stupid to let him go

I don't think they'll need to break the bank to finish 5th, 6th or 7th Faaip, West Ham haven't, nor did Leicester or Wolves.

Leicester & West Ham finished 5th & 6th respectively last season.

This season, West Ham are currently two points off 6th place, with Wolves five points adrift.

Some teams will rise and fall season on season but I think the top 6 will be the big 6 bar Manure who are struggling atm. Newcastle's consistent ceiling is 7th for me and it'll be a battle for them to get there every year. They're not enough of a draw.. If we had 250M to spend on players I bet we wouldn't be able to spend it easily

Works the same in all sports that involve large sums of money
