Re: Patrick Bamford

We have been awful all season, we can't be lumping the blame on Sam when he only got given 4 games, one of which was Man City. Aim your arrows higher. We've now had 4 managers this season, including a caretaker manager, and the fans blame all of them - including particularly Marsch. One thing I kno...

He's signed some decent ones like Monteiro, Hjelde and Drameh. But the maturation curve is much longer for defenders.
Good points.

Re: An absolute mess

I agree, but he still turned down players and constantly picked ones who weren't good enough. Hindsight is great and all, but if Bielsa went in 2021 summer, I think we'd be in a much stronger position now. For me the rot began with Bielsa. It was Bielsa who was obsessed with signing James, obsessed...

The list is long.
And 153 goals conceded in the last two seasons. That's the worst defensive record of any club in Europe's five top leagues over that period.

Orta was just incapable of signing decent defenders or keepers.

Re: West Ham Utd v Leeds Utd Match Thread

Its going to be tough finding someone to do what Biesa did on a shoestring budget. We will have to see what the 49ers have in store. If the Sampdoria rumours are true then it looks like AR is about to cut his losses and head for the hills. The 49ers couldn't be taking on the club at a worst time in...

Jesse Marsch.

Don't get me wrong - I think we can still stay up. I have much more faith since since Allardyce came in.

Our defensive record over the last two seasons had been a disgrace though.

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Friday 19th May) Should Leeds cut their losses on record signing

So about £70m paid out for JKA and Rutter ( if we have to pay JKA's wages ) in return for so far about 285 mins of football between them.

And yet in 2007/8 the club seemingly thought it too expensive to outlay 7 or 8m for Leeds born Haaland....

City are the best club side in the world right now. Everything we would hope to be, but unless super rich owners buy the club, sadly we will never be. Or anywhere near. The super rich just aren't interested in Leeds United - and modern football is all about money.

Re: Patrick Bamford

An investment or nothing are not the right choices to be making when the club is facing relegation. That's absolutely terrible decision making if it was ever framed in those terms. I wasn't there either, but an educated guess suggests a vanity signing that hadn't been properly assessed for first te...

I would never condone the abuse he and his family have gotten. That is crossing a line. But Bamford has had immense support from both social media and the stadium despite the amount of chances he has missed over the years. A player being criticised isn't new. PSG fans literally booed every touch of...

Re: Patrick Bamford

Instead of wasting 35 mil on a relatively untested player, we desperately needed to bring in a proper target man. With a few canny aquisitions a left back included, I doubt we'd be in this mess. As for next season, Paddy and Firpo need to be moved on regardless. Agreed. Given what the total bill fo...

Robles - 6.5 - What a difference again. He just looks more comfortable back there than Meslier. A couple of nervy moments, but handled things well. Refreshing not having to worry as much back there. Ayling - 7.5 - another decent game from Ayling and made some nice runs and progressive passes. Heads...

Ultimately though for years people have praised Paddy for all that other stuff you mention But goals are what count. If we go down it will be partly because of missed chances and none of that other stuff will matter. I just don't see the point of a no 9 who contributes only 4 goals in a season - no...

I think a fair few fans did see through Orta , but not enough .
