Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Tuesday 23rd April) Summerville back to his best in seven goal thriller

To say that that Bamford did nothing other than score the goal is so blatantly biased but pretty much par for the course for the Bamford haters . He had a couple of excellent shots well saved and an 'offside' goal which wasn't replayed at all so one couldn't assess it ( makes me think it was a dodgy...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Wednesday 10th April) - Whites denied two stonewall penalties in goalless draw

For me the problem in recent times has started at the back . Some time ago Farke criticised the team in one game for always looking to attack in transitions rather than picking their moments. The effect of that has been to turn us into a completely ponderous sideways and backwards possession team wh...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Tuesday 9th April) Summerville caught up in £45m transfer merry go-round

The reason Summerville stays for at least one more season if we go up is because he trusts in his own ability to tear up the Premiership next season and then he will be dictating the terms of his next move as an established Premiership player . Playing in the top league on a regular basis is how you...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Tuesday 9th April) Summerville caught up in £45m transfer merry go-round

To my mind Summerville is a little bit like Raphinha in that his relationship with the club is a bit transactional and he has always had a trajectory which he can see but he is younger and has a bit more time and seems to be fairly well advised . If we go up I think he will sign a new contract with ...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Monday 8th April) - Ipswich falter but Leeds bottle it

FFS we lose by 1 goal an away game against a tough opponent and all the geniuses on here are howling at the moon including the main man . Apparently you lot know better than everyone including Bielsa and Farke both of whom rate Bamford highly and it is not coincidental that our improved form in 2024...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Thursday 4th April) Championship in uproar after true extent of Leicester accounts discl

It's not all that long ago that Leicester were being held up as the model for running a sustainable challenge to the Big 5 /6 and it just shows how contingent success in football is . Probably the most important element of the Radrizzani era is the extent to which he maximised the commercial potenti...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Wednesday 3rd March) Can anyone stop Ipswich

We can only really ask that the team keep doing what they have done this calendar year in terms of dealing with what is within their control. It may be destiny that 4 Southampton players turn to stone to enable Sarmiento to fall over and in getting up toe poke the ball into the net or it may just be...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Tuesday 2nd April) Leeds escape mauling after late drama

As I fought through the blizzard of exclamation marks I wondered what team you lot were writing about because the club I support are unbeaten this year and have dropped points in just two away games !!!!!Bamford misses the occasional sitter because he is always there making himself available unlike ...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Wednesday 27th March) Wales heartache and the knock on effect for Leeds

I think Rutter will pass a late fitness test .DF will be mulling over the Gruev situation and if necessary will move Ampadu to midfield and play Cooper at Centre back . If Roberts had been available he would have been tempted to play Gray in midfield but that seems to have been ruled out .

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Wednesday 27th March) Wales heartache and the knock on effect for Leeds

I would have thought there was an argument that the disappointment for the Welsh contingent would have the effect of galvanising the determination to ensure that they do everything to ensure automatic promotion . Falling into the Play Offs now would run the risk of facing another penalty shoot out s...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Friday 22nd March) Foxes charged with breaking FFP rules

And that is why we have no scope to bring back Loan Players with the intention of letting them rot in the reserves . One of the main reasons Everton ended up in trouble with FFP is that poor recruitment and managerial churn led to high salaries going on players who weren't playing in the first team ...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Wednesday 20th March) Phillips linked with Elland Road return

It seems to me that in the Bielsa team that Phillips was the cog that kept everything running and there was never a convincing replacement . His absence through injury in the second season back in the Premiership was a major contributory factor to the downturn in form leading to Bielsa being sacked ...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Friday 15th March) Leeds table £7m bid for explosive right-back

I don't believe we blew the full €150 m . Of the money spent on the Marsch assemblage I think we should get back somewhere in the region of 60/70% assuming we take a bath on Aaronson and Kristensen ?Adams, Sinisterra, Wober and Roca look like they'll fetch close to their cost and ultimately Rutter w...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Friday 15th March) Leeds table £7m bid for explosive right-back

would you describe Rodon as a Spurs Cast off then ? Surely the only relevant criterion for assessing Roberts is based on his contribution since he joined Leeds and given his positive impact per minute played I would think he has put himself into contention . He certainly gives the impression of havi...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Wednesday 13th March) Archie can finally shake off '17yo' tag line

To my mind Firpo had a poor first half and an excellent second half against Wednesday so it really seems to be a confidence thing where the cross for Bamford was the catalyst for the improvement. He has had such a poor run with injuries after he initially arrived and then when he did come in it was ...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Friday 8th March) 49ers new ticketing system getting mixed reviews

It seems to me that Gelhardt's most productive spell came in Marsch's first fight for survival when it was so hectic and desperate that there was no real sense of anyone's position. Last season he went to Sunderland and because of injuries he was played as a Number 9 and it didn't really work. At th...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Wednesday 28th February) Au revoir Meslier?

Your timing is impeccable as always as Meslier had an outstanding game against Leicester and DF clearly rates him. He has the raw talent and has gained more experience over the years which in due course with proper coaching iron out some of the weaknesses . Having been through the experience of play...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Tuesday 27th February) - Farke vs Bielsa

The first thing that has to be said is that we have been lucky to get 2 top class managers who have successfully tackled the huge tasks that faced them . Bielsa faced the accumulated detritus of 14 years of drift and underinvestment with only the promotion from League 1 to show. In the space of one ...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Monday 26th February) Late comeback stuns Foxes

I'm mot sure where this notion came from that Leicester dominated for 80 minutes other than from Maresca's imagination but it seems to have been repeated a bit since . The first half was quite even and there were a couple of chances which if taken would have given Leeds the lead. Leeds seemed to los...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Friday 23rd February) Maresca singles out fantastic four

There just seems to be a lot of noise coming out of Leicester which makes me think that they are very nervous about this one and trying to cover that up with a lot of bluster . It makes me think that they are aware of the possibility that the gap between the 2 sides in quality is much less than the ...
