Re: RIP To those departed - Maradona

Shame he tarnished himself with England supporters, including me, with the hand of God incident. Great players shouldn't need to cheat like that. RIP and thanks for the memories Diego. People forget that the hand of God incident was only four years after the Falklands War and that game was driven o...

Re: Well done MB (Vote for Marcelo, link in opening post)

You do have to register on the FIFA site in order to vote, and it takes a little effort, but surely it’s worth it considering what the man has done for us as Leeds fans.

This also raises the profile of Leeds United, so get voting everyone! My vote is in👍

There is! Vote here: https://www.fifa.com/the-best-fifa-football-awards/best-fifa-mens-coach/ Bloody hell! Not easy to log on there, but hopefully worth it. We have to get everyone to vote for Bielsa to be recognised as FIFA’s best men’s coach this year. With Liverpool fans voting for Koop and Real...

Re: RIP To those departed - Maradona

What a genius Maradona was. Messi and Diego by far and away the best players I’ve seen to play the game. As one commentator famously said of him as he scored his wonder goal against England, “different class, different class”.

Sad day for football, RIP Diego.

Re: Marcelo Bielsa

WOW!! Pinching myself. We have gone from Paul Heckingbottom to the nominee for FIFA Manager of the Year in 2 seasons It is massive! And considering the dual resurrection involved in him getting this nomination, both for Leeds United and for Marcelo himself, he should get this award. I wonder if the...

If you want to survive Covid then become a footballer. It appears that even if you are diagnosed as positive you make a recovery. What conclusions can we draw from this? https://www.goal.com/en-bh/news/coronavirus-football-teams-players-managers-owners-affected/1unrxo89q54201k0nt2pyru972 Sent from ...

Re: Leeds Utd v Arsenal Match Thread - Raphinha, Phillips and Alioski start, Rodrigo makes the bench by

Managers face more problems with footballers who think they are gods gift especially at premiership level. Arteta could be well out of his depth I think he is out of his depth and is bluffing in many of his interviews. Arsenal have no particular style or personality under him. They vary wildly from...

Re: Your 2 Favourite books...1 Fiction, 1 Non fiction

As the outstanding Lord Of The Rings has been picked a number of times, I’ll list my favourite fiction book as To Kill A Mockingbird (my name here gives that away!). Such a wonderful atmospheric book that I always feel sad finishing it. Non Fiction - Rubicon by Tom Holland. This tells the story of t...

Re: Leeds Utd v Arsenal Match Thread - Raphinha, Phillips and Alioski start, Rodrigo makes the bench by

It was heartening to see us play better than we’ve done recently and still be brave in spite of a couple of skinnings. Some of our link up play at speed was top class and there was more of an effort to pick players out on cut backs from the end line, especially by Harrison. We should have had two go...

Re: Leeds Utd v Arsenal Match Thread

It appears that Luiz and Ceballos had a fight on the training ground during the week after a bad tackle by Ceballos. Arteta is looking for the source of the leak. More pertinent for us is that Elneny is missing as well as Partey. They were easily Arsenal’s best two players in their win over Man U a ...

Re: Leeds Utd v Arsenal Match Thread

Partey missing for Arsenal is a real bonus. His physicality and control in the centre would have been a problem for us.
Players back for us should lift confidence, which is badly needed.

Re: BielsaBall concern 2

It probably is too expensive and I hate to see people calling us naive as it implies bielsa is stupid and he isn't, he just thinks if we play well, create and take our chances we have a chance to win like at Aston villa and sheff united and nearly vs city. Problem is with the player choices and inj...
