Re: Boxing chat

Condescending from Fury at the end and rather stupid.
Good fight.

Usyk definitely won it.

Fury would have been staring at the lights without the ropes in round 9 was it? Or had it gone 30 more seconds.

Re: Boxing chat

Michael Buffer obviously, I was staggered to hear that his net worth is close to $400m. He gets 100k per fight he announces. Have to say Michael is iconic but do like the energy Bruce brings. He earns £1000s every time he utters "let's get ready to rumble" since he trademarked it 30+ year...

Re: Joel Piroe

I think Piroe's performance was much improved because people were passing to him so he was more involved. I think a lot of the time he has looked frustrated after getting into good positions and not being passed to. I don't think he touched the ball much more than he usually does just think the set...

weasel wrote: Sat May 18, 2024 12:52 am Was very noticeable how unselfish he was setting up Piroe and Gnonto in positions where he would usually look to be trying to get a shot in usually.
It was he did very well.

And he very enthusiastically celebrated all the goals (not sure strangling JP was necessary).

Re: Southampton pre match chat

Both times we've played them I think we've really struggled in midfield and they've found ways to always have a spare man which caused us lots of problems. They went back 3 2nd game and 4-3-3 1st. In both games it was the slickness of the passing but central overloads that we didn't cope with. Eithe...

Evening all... West Brom fan in peace, just joined to say you really need to do the football world a favour and beat Southampton at Wembley.. The smug p***ks, both fans and manager. Good luck! Welcome to the forum Found the reaction from Southampton fans a bit odd, not like they were plucky underdo...

Re: Joe Rodon

Right up there for MOTM, even though I had Rutter & Summerville above him. The long passes is interesting. Seemed to be more in general. Less side to side stuff. Think that was key all round. Credit to the players for doing it and Farke for allowing it. Don't think it's a coincidence we looked ...

That turn in the build-up for Rutter's goal was sublime.

I'm happy for Joel, more please!
I've adopted JP as my new Ali I've decided :)

Re: Southampton pre match chat

5 players who may have been struggling for confidence.

Hopefully Meslier, Piroe, Gnonto, Rutter and Summerville can take great confidence from these key moments.

1964white wrote: Fri May 17, 2024 9:48 pm Did the referee feel sorry for Norwich yesterday?

Only two minutes added-on-time.

There were 11 substitutions, plus Ampadu & a Norwich player were down injured for a while.
Definitely

See it before if a team is getting its butt kicked they tend to add very little time on

Southampton pre match chat

Nice long build up thread :) 9 days wait. 3rd vs 4th 2nd vs 3rd biggest budget. Summerville vs Armstrong Rutter vs Adams Meslier vs McCarthy Farke vs Martin 3. Bit of a personal edge for those 2 with Martin feeling Farke handled his departure from Norwich badly. Farke wanting to put the last 2 vs So...

Re: Today's Games

It’s what finals are for. Nothing else matters. Some players will step up, Some won’t but if Farke has them fired up again then why not. It does need to be last night plus 10% mind you. Play like we did last night we will beat them Still think on our day we are the best team overall (cue Leicester ...

Re: Joel Piroe

Oscar stretching Piroe's performance a bit far! Don't get me wrong, Piroe was very lively, his best game in a long time. Joel did miss a couple of simple chances. Lively a bit of a downplaying? Involved in 3 of 4 goals, excellent movement all night giving Georgie and Jimmy space to play in. 1 chanc...

Re: Joel Piroe

Most complete performance I've seen from him. Definitely keeps his place. Oscar who used to post on here called it "one of the best striking performances for us in the last 15-20 years". He was excellent. That's the player I think we all assumed we'd get when we signed him. He showed all ...
