Player of the year award
How can we possibly hold a player of the year award on 18th April !!
Simply bloody outrageous.
3 or 4 players must still be in the running for it, we could even be in the play offs, thats without the 6 games of the normal season left to play.
WTF are they thinking of, surely the players themselves would be better thinking about important games and promotion than attending an awards ceremony in the middle of a title run in !!

Tickets go on sale today, £150 or £120.
We used to go every year, excellent events to be fair, very professional. A few of the lads are going this time, I’m in Manchester that day though and won’t be back in time.

well the winner has to be crysencio, so it doesn't really matter, but it is a bit odd

Geo needs one more assist I think to be the highest assister in Championship history, and that doesn't take into account all the other goals he's had a hand in

Re: Player of the year award
I hate these awards before the season has actually finished, we need to complete the season first.
So what happens if this award is given to player A, but players B & C almost won it, then Player A on his way out of the event trips and pulls something that keeps him out for the rest of the season, mean while Players B & C go on a run of scoring and assists for every game (please) until the end of the season.
Nonsense having the event now

I'm with you on these awards, they are ridiculous right now, Rat.Ratscoot wrote: ↑Fri Apr 05, 2024 11:56 am I hate these awards before the season has actually finished, we need to complete the season first.

I won't be holding the MOT players awards until after the Southampton game, our final game of the season.
Re: Player of the year award
Leif Davis is ahead of him now anyway on 16.The Subhuman wrote: ↑Fri Apr 05, 2024 11:37 am Geo needs one more assist I think to be the highest assister in Championship history, and that doesn't take into account all the other goals he's had a hand in
Both quite a way from the record anyway.
Adel Taarabt got 21 in possibly the best individual Championship season ever (assume that's 1st)

I have Geo on 17 ... I don't trust the BBC. Davis must have a few recently as he's up to 19

I’ll have to check back, but I’m pretty sure when I have been to the events previously, we still have a couple of games to go rather than after the last game of the season.

We were saying same thing last night as you described above, whoever thought this up has dropped a bollock.

Re: Player of the year award
I'm wondering if they do it this way to avoid it being a bit of a depression fest if we don't get promoted for example / could clash with the play offs

More likely the greedy bastards have sold the venue for weddings and other occasions and this is the only time they can fit the ceremony in.

Re: Player of the year award
I’ve just looked back to the award ceremonies I have attended, and not one has been after the last game of the season.
All have been done with around 3/4 games of the season to go.

I see Rosenior is nominated along with Farke & McKenna for coach of the season.
Crazy, if Corberan wins the play-off final with West Brom

Re: Player of the year award
I think the last one I attended may have been on the night of the Villa home game when we ‘gifted’ them the goal. They got Bamford up on stage to talk about him falling when nobody touched him.
They were cancelled for a number of years for the fans due to Covid.

What’s the difference other than £30?
Gold tickets, £150 (including VAT) PP:
- Complimentary arrival drink
- Three course meal served to your table
- Cashless bar facility
- Tables located in the central portion of the Centenary Pavilion

The silver ticket tables are actually at the back of The Pavilion, not central, despite what it says above.
