I said in my post Rodon made two poor errors in the game.

Without Ampadu, Rodon or Meslier tonight, we don't keep yet another clean sheet.

Without Gnoto/Firpo it's 0-0. I've already said Ampadu was outstanding tonight, the error didn't bother me, marked him down half a point but he quickly made that back. I marked Gnonto down for two wayward passes but he did so much so well he again was hovering around 9.5.. His vision and touch passing is second to none... That ball to Gray, that ball to Geo, that ball to Cry were out of the top draw, the finish sublime, the defensive work good, the carrying of the ball excellent, the work rate up there with the best ...

I see the hypocrisy, but think it may also be in part to "credit in the bank"--Amps has built up a lot more of this with his consistent play since Day 1, whereas Willy still has the specter of the spitting out the dummy/downing tools (apologize if I butchered either of those) and Firpo has his injury history and at times questionable defending to overcome. Not saying this excuses hypocrisy like you're describing, but it may be some bias posters are still holding onto, which, tbf, I get to a point.

I think Dan James too suffers from a historical negative bias. It will be interesting to see how those that divide opinion fare in the Premier League (God willing).
