Not surprised. So many chances. This one could’ve been 6-0.AcrossThePondAsh wrote: ↑Sat Jan 13, 2024 5:01 pm FT Stats

Only a week back someone was commenting how DF didn't know what he'd bought Gruev for
It was for games as and when needed champ and readying him for one of the toughest leagues in the world, tha knows, like a manager watching and assessing HIS players day in and day out, and not just to rush him into a side that still finding it's and his feet.
Never mind.

No real complaints ?? You need to pull your finger out there must be something.Cjay wrote: ↑Sat Jan 13, 2024 5:02 pm Comfortable and much better against a low block than we have been at times.
Bamford stretching the play, Rutter then having space, very effective as a pair.
I thought Gruev was extremely tidy, some really nice passes and covering tackles.
Jamara was his usual effective unspectacular self.
Rodon was immense with Ampadu looking Comfortable bringing the ball out.
Gray and Firpo both very decent.
No real complaints.
Good job.

Just noticed that Geo's goal started with him playing the ball out of our 18 yd. box and ended with him scoring at the other end. That's effort

Question from me - were they dreadful or was it a case that we made them look totally abject. I would suggest the latter - what I really enjoyed about today’s performance was how hard we worked to regain possession. We have been doing this most of the season but today we looked very ruthless at hunting the opposition down.
Everyone had a decent game.

OK the sloppy play 1st half which gave Cardiff some half chances.
Happy

Think it was definitely the latter, DDB. Everyone really seemed to be focused on getting back defensively (even Firpo) and holding their shape.DDB220 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 13, 2024 5:10 pm Question from me - were they dreadful or was it a case that we made them look totally abject. I agree with you on this. We frustrated them all day long.DDB220 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 13, 2024 5:10 pm Question from me - were they dreadful or was it a case that we made them look totally abject. I was asking myself the same, i don't think they've got depth of squad and had a few out, we put them to the sword, but they offered no threat at all really.DDB220 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 13, 2024 5:10 pm Question from me - were they dreadful or was it a case that we made them look totally abject. DF agrees post match...thinks we had the most control of all ninety minutes of any match this season.

PB makes a huge difference occupying defenders.
We'll go up with him fit, and as long as neither Soton or Leicester are in the play offs if we are.

Rutter effective once again in a deeper role. The Subhuman wrote: ↑Sat Jan 13, 2024 2:59 pm Not worried about Paddy starting, I never gave up hope. But I do think Piroe is a forward too and likely to be more clinical. And before someone says he rotates with Rutter, he doesn't, he's been getting deeper and deeper every week playing the 10
