Was always going to get nervy if they got the third but should’ve been over as a contest long before that.

So wasteful in front of goal. Lacked intensity in the 2nd half, dare I say we became complacent until they scored. As a result of which we created self imposed pressure as the impetus changed.

Still, a win is a win and with Leicester losing its getting very interesting.
Exactly, what could have been a 17 point gap last weekend is now only 8. This league is bonkers. I love it.

Wouldn't be Leeds, I suppose, if we didn't make it more difficult than it needed to be. We should have had five or six.

Good result, though.

Just seen their goal replayed afterwards, it was perfectly played between Firpo and Cooper with Ampadu chasing back - nobody at fault really but some might disagree.

Cjay wrote: Sat Nov 11, 2023 5:02 pm Jesus christ those last 10 shouldn't have been that nervous.

But deserved it.

Better team and should have scored more.

James, Summerville and Piroe really good.

Rutter good and bad

Ampadu and Kamara immense.

Cooper and Rodon solid.

Byram good Gray brilliant.
A good overall assessment, Cjay. In particular, Gray showing why the vultures are circling.

Exactly OB, and some folks were saying the league was over a few weeks ago :)
Could have, should have been more but a wins a win and we close that gap.

Especially with the international break, Joe. Only good thoughts for lads over the break.

I wouldn't panic too much about that, they threw the kitchen sink at us and were bound to have a period of control, it's hard for the manager to know where to start when someone does that, like DF did v Norwich for us

We should've been out of sight really with our chances and i'm more pleased about that.

Only Plymouth, but it was still good and improving from us for the majority.

Not panicking- just a reflection.

The longer the game went on without getting the 3rd goal the more adventurous they became.

Boro are gonna need watchin now with that statement today, bit of another concern...

Championship full-time headlines
Sam Greenwood’s late goal gave Middlesbrough a fine victory over leaders Leicester who lose their third game of the season
Ipswich are second only on goal difference after coming from behind to beat Swansea 3-2
Leeds had a nervy final few minutes after Ben Waine’s late goal for Plymouth but Daniel Farke’s men held on for a 2-1 win
Southampton moved up to fourth and are now unbeaten in eight after a hard-fought 2-1 win over West Brom
Norwich scored twice in the final ten minutes to come from behind and beat Cardiff in a 3-2 thriller
Liam Delap’s injury time strike saw Hull move up to eighth with victory over Huddersfield
Mileta Rajovic scored twice as Watford hammered Rotherham 5-0
It was another horror day for bottom side Sheffield Wednesday as they lost 4-0 at home to Millwall
Bristol City drew 0-0 with QPR in Liam Manning’s first game in charge and Coventry v Stoke also ended goalless

Another questionable second half but job done in the first. Leicester slipped up again thanks to Sam Greenwood.

Losing Byram changed the Dynamic as well. They were pretty much hemmed into their own half on the left side. Firpo stayed deep for the most part, but ironically had pushed up when the ball over the top came. Not his fault - he was probably under instruction.
