Ethan Ampadu has been named our Socios Player of the Month, after a string of fine performances throughout August.

Aside from having another excellent performance, which are quickly becoming the norm, loved the grit--taking absolute no s**t from Millwall today. Loved the "bump" he gave the Millwall player that hip-checked Mes.

A future captain continues to impress :strong:

Just hope he stays fit, his presence imo is vital to our continued success and we would be far less effective without him.

Have we signed him on a 4 yr contract or is someone else I'm thinking of ?

Millwall (a)

Good
8 defensive headers
8 decent passes
5 ball recoveries
3 blocks
3 interceptions
3 runs
3 defensive clearance
3 tackles
1 excellent passes

Bad
2 poor passes

Another masterclass from our no.4, his all round game is better than Phillips & Adams, definitely the case defensively. Just hope he hasn't picked-up an injury after the nasty tackle Ethan endured late in the game

9.5/10

An absolute steal at £7 million from Chelsea.

He also is doing a great job marshaling the troops from the midfield. Seems a natural leader to me.

Other than DF (who it's nice to know has still got it if we need him to play striker--Pete Rose, also known as Charlie Hustle, was a major league baseball manager/player who did both for a few years) Ampadu is clearly our best pound for pound deal of the summer. And, dare I say, future captain. In terms of tangibles and intangibles, he continues to impress week in and week out.

The similarities of our last three defensive midfielders.

Southampton (a)

Good
9 decent passes
3 interceptions
2 ball recoveries
2 excellent passes
1 tackle
1 defensive clearance
1 run
1 shot blocked

Bad
2 poor passes
2 lost possession
1 no tackle or block, allowing a cross field pass to Armstrong for the Saints third goal.

Nowhere near involved in this game as he normally is, anonymous in the first-half

QPR (h)

Good
34 successful forward passes :gold:
13 most decent passes :gold:
13 most ball recoveries :gold:
06 defensive headers
05 most interceptions :gold:
05 most tackles :gold:
04 most excellent passes :gold:
03 runs
01 defensive clearance
01 block

Bad
2 poor passes
1 lost possession

Summary
Normal service resumes for Ampadu du --- 51 decent actions in 90 minutes of football, Ethan is probably the most involved player in the team, this is more than what any fan would expect from a midfielder. Once again he is the glue that holds us together. IMMENSE!

His performance deserves much more than 7/10

Couldn't agree more, '64. Aside from all of the other medals he earned, in particular I thought his passing was really on point last match--some really nicely placed and weighted balls. A thing a beauty. It's tough, as I'm quickly falling in love with all things Rutter, but if I'm getting a kit it's Ampadu's name across the back.

Ampadu was a bargain purchase @ £7m, he is so consistent, Amps must be a manager's dream.

Strangely enough I've always fallen in love with centre-midfielders, it all started in the 60s with my immense affection for Bremner & Giles. Turn the clock forward 55 years later, I'm drooling over Kalvin Phillips until he left for pastures new, then Tyler Adams came along, our best player last season up to his injury & then he departed, leaving a bitter taste in my mouth.

Now we have Ampadu du du, my love for DM's is rekindled & I'll go as far as saying Amps is a better all round midfielder than Phillips & Adams.

Ampadu is a good choice to go on any Leeds fans' shirt.

Oh, I think we are all falling for Georginio, a slow burner, but we love him now, a joy to behold
