Ampadu was a bargain purchase @ £7m, he is so consistent, Amps must be a manager's dream.
Strangely enough I've always fallen in love with centre-midfielders, it all started in the 60s with my immense affection for Bremner & Giles. Turn the clock forward 55 years later, I'm drooling over Kalvin Phillips until he left for pastures new, then Tyler Adams came along, our best player last season up to his injury & then he departed, leaving a bitter taste in my mouth.
Now we have Ampadu du du, my love for DM's is rekindled & I'll go as far as saying Amps is a better all round midfielder than Phillips & Adams.
Ampadu is a good choice to go on any Leeds fans' shirt.
Oh, I think we are all falling for Georginio, a slow burner, but we love him now, a joy to behold
I can only imagine how great Ampadu must be to work with--I imagine there's zero ego and 100% eagerness to improve...he just seems like that sort of player with the shifts he puts in. He and Farke much be a match made in heaven.
I've always been drawn more to midfielders too. I played midfield in secondary school, mainly because I was horrible with the ball (I'd never played before) but I wouldn't stop running. Also, although from a different time period ( you may have one or two years on me) and country, my football idols were the USMNT midfielders like Eric Wynalda, Kobi Jones, Claudio Reyna, and Clint Dempsey.
It was an easy transition to Leeds with Kalvin in his heyday. Tyler was my favorite player last year, if nothing else because he reminded me of much more talented me--always running. However, Ampadu is by far my favorite of the bunch, which I think is saying something given he's only been here one preseason and 11 matches.
