Great to see this. Know he got off to a slow start in terms of match time (getting acclimated to his new team I imagine) but looks like he is firing on all cylinders now :)

There's a worry the likes of Kristensen, Aaronson and Llorente will be sent back in January and we'll be stuck with their huge wages. Hopefully those loan clauses were for the whole season only.

I believe the players that had the escape clauses negotiated their own deals with the clubs taking them on and they last a season. So there is no option for a return in January. I hope I'm right!

Here's hoping Wober keeps it up so we might make some money off of him when his loan ends:

"Gladbach’s sporting director Schmadtke was full of praise for Wober – who has also managed to lay on two assists. He described the left-footer was a “warrior” and one that is showing leadership."

'A warrior. That’s why we signed him. Max is a guy who radiates something. Max enjoys defending and fighting duels. That’s exactly what we need. He is a leader, a leader,' Schmadtke said, on Wober."

"Bild also asked Schmadtke if there is a chance that defender Wober could be signed permanently, claiming a deal in the “low double digits” could materialise. Schmadtke said: 'Everything in its own time.'"

Oh dear.....

Leeds United midfielder Brenden Aaronson has continued to be criticised for his loan spell at Union Berlin failing to work out.

Fussball Transfers cover the player today as part of a look at Union’s transfer business this summer, which are being questioned as their season continues to unravel.

The German side were busy throughout the summer as they looked to build their squad for a season in the Champions League after their impressive season in the Bundesliga last year.

One of those that arrived was Aaronson, joining on loan from Leeds, taking advantage of a clause in his contract at Elland Road to leave temporarily following relegation to the Championship.

The hope was that he could bounce back from a disappointing year in England in Germany and start to show some of the talent that had convinced Leeds to sign him in the first place.
He’s been unable to do that, though, with a report earlier this month labelling him a transfer flop and stating that he had shown ‘significant deficiencies’.
Fussball Transfers follow that up today and give the player a five rating, the second lowest possible as it’s based on the German school grading system.

So, to be clear, 1 means very good, 2 is good, 3 is average, 4 is passable but still lacking, 5 is deficient and 6 is insufficient.

They say that the once ‘incredibly expensive’ player, who cost Leeds €33m last summer, is failing to live up to that price tag during his loan spell so far.

According to them he has turned out to be ‘too small on the chest’ for the intense and physical style of play that Union prefer.

After 11 games for the German club so far, he is yet to score or register an assist and it seems everyone is questioning whether the effort to get him was worth it. On the face of it, it appears it was not.

Oh dear 2......

Young Leeds United striker Sonny Perkins was left out of Oxford United’s squad for the eighth consecutive league game last night and has played less than ten minutes of league football so far this season, as highlighted by Leeds United News.

Perkins joined Oxford United on a season-long loan in August and manager Liam Manning praised his versatility and goal-scoring prowess but he has been outcompeted by other young attackers like Tyler Goodrham and Stanley Mills.

Officials at Leeds United may be disappointed that their youngster hasn’t got much of a chance out on loan, particularly given his record at youth level.

Perkins has scored 23 goals in 40 games in the Premier League 2, as well as five goals in six games for the England Under-19s side which indicates that it is time for him to move into men’s football.

In fact, Perkins had already made senior appearances for both West Ham and Leeds over the past few seasons as he scored a crucial injury-time equaliser for the Whites in their FA Cup third-round tie against Cardiff last season.

Manning explained why Perkins wasn’t playing in an interview with the Oxford Mail in October where he said: “Sonny came in late, which doesn’t help because the team had already found some momentum, were winning games and performing well.”

“Naturally, certain people tend to carry a bit of credit for what they’ve already done, so then it shifts back to being patient and trying to force my hand from how you train.”

“If somebody’s in credit and you want to force my hand, you have to be an eight or nine every day in training, which Sonny is progressing in those areas.”

“He’s improving in training but we still want more from him. He’s still going to play a part, it’s just a case of when.”

“He’s just got to make sure he keeps his head down and keeps working. We support him and brought him in because we know some of the qualities he’s got.”

“It’s about now making sure that he hits the level in training every day, so when someone’s level drops or there’s an injury, he’s ready to step in and grab the opportunity.”

Writer’s View

Perkins has been put in a really unfortunate situation. He joined an Oxford United side who had started the season well and are still flying high currently as they sit in second place in the League One table. Manning talks a lot about “credit” which other players were able to build up over Perkins during the first few games of the season and he is well within his right to keep playing the same players in order to ensure that his team performs as well as it can. But, it may mean that Leeds recall Perkins in January.

As his record in the PL2 shows, he would simply not gain anything from spending the second half of the season back with Leeds’ Under-23s. It will be up to the likes of Angus Kinnear to find Perkins a more suitable club who are willing to give him a sustained run in the side as, if Perkins is able to build some confidence, he could become a real asset for a team in League One or League Two. However, Perkins has already played for both Leeds and Oxford United this season which may mean he is ineligible to move because of the ‘two-clubs rule’ that exists in England. What was already an unlucky situation may get even worse as the 19-year-old could be forced into staying at Oxford United and waiting for an opportunity to arise.

Oh dear 3....The clown at his business sense best....

Eintracht Frankfurt sporting director Markus Krösche has admitted they are confident that they can secure a long-term deal for Leeds United defender Robin Koch.

Krösche has been speaking to Sport 1 regarding the situation at his club at this moment in time following a busy summer of rebuilding the squad.

One of the players to arrive was Robin Koch from Leeds, who was signed on a season-long loan deal, taking advantage of a clause in his contract at Elland Road that allowed him to do so following relegation.

His time with Leeds appears to be at an end as his current deal expires at the end of the season, meaning he will be a free agent once his loan deal expires.

It has been made clear on numerous occasions that Frankfurt are keen to sign him on a permanent basis after his impressive performances so far, and it was hinted in the summer they had spent €500,000 on the loan deal as something of a down payment.
Several reports since then have stated they are keen to get a deal wrapped up as soon as possible, with them able to speak to Koch about a pre-contract agreement from January 1st.

Krösche has now admitted they are confident of making that happen, praising the Leeds man for his performances so far.

“We are confident about that,” he said when asked if they can retain the defender long-term.

“I think the transfer was the right step for both sides. We were able to convince Robin of our club so much that he chose us. With his experience he gives us the stability we need.

“Robin’s experience helps Tuta and Willian. I am confident that we will have a lot of fun with Robin for many years to come.”

If is contract with us expires at the end of the season, surely we sell in January rather than let him go as a free agent next summer ?.

Doesn't bode well for the horizontal Brenden.

I might be wrong - and it wouldn't be the first time  - but I think the instantly forgettable Aaronson is with the Germans for the whole season so it wouldn't be possible for us to ditch him in January.

Besides, which lame brain club would want to sign him? OH! Wait a minute .............

My post was in relation to Koch mate, who’s contract appears to expire at the end of the season.

Frankfurt appear to want him, no great surprise he’s a quality defender, so I’m suggesting we sell him in January for a bit of brass rather than let him go for zilch in the summer.

As for Aaronson, lord knows what happens there

Oops - Apologies.

In the case of Koch it would be Frankfurt's interest to snap him in January. We'd be the beneficiaries of any fee although I'm not sure
if Koch can get into pre-contract talks with clubs in January with a view to joining them in the close season. If Frankfurt wait until the end of the season when he becomes a free agent Koch might have a range of suitors and he might elect to play his football elsewhere. And obviously he wouldn't be our player at this point so we get sweet FA.

Koch is holding most if not all the cards it seems.
