Leeds Utd v Tottenham Hotspur Match Thread - Robin Koch and Diego Llorente return
Saturday 26th February 12:30pm | Elland Road
Spurs are the visitors to Elland Road on Saturday lunchtime as Leeds go in search for their first victory since defeating West Ham almost six weeks ago. Leeds remain without the services of Patrick Bamford, Kalvin Phillips and Liam Cooper. But there is better news regarding Diego Llorente. The Spanish International defender missed the trip to Anfield with a hamstring injury but he is sit to face Spurs today. In his absence, Bielsa switched Ayling to centre back alongside Struijk and rotated Dallas to right back. As a result of Llorente's return Dallas is likely to move into midfield alongside Adam Forshaw.
Robin Koch had been passed fit for the weekend and will start in the holding midfield role. Raphinha and Jack Harrison will ocupy the wings whilst Dan James will start up front. Rodrigo and Klich start on the bench. Tyler Roberts and Joe Gelhardt all received game time at Anfield but failed to make much of an impression against a Liverpool side that looked like they were in a completely different league. They are two of the most likely to feature should Bielsa make any unforced changes.
Spurs may be without the services of Uruguayan International Midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur. The €19 m January signing suffering an awkward fall at Turf Moor midweek. Pierluigi Gollini is also a doubt due to illness, while Oliver Skipp (groin) and Japhet Tanganga (knee) are struggling to be fit for the weekend. Lucas Moura and Sergio Reguilon may return to the starting line up following a poor performance against Burnley.

Re: Leeds Utd v Tottenham Hotspur Match Thread
Let's just try some positivity regarding where we go from here. What changes do we hope Bielsa could possibly make with what he has that might get us a result on Saturday?
Re: Leeds Utd v Tottenham Hotspur Match Thread
On a positive note, we will still be in the PL on Sunday

Desperate for a point or 3 but 0-2 I reckon, Kane to score 2 one been a penalty.
Re: Leeds Utd v Tottenham Hotspur Match Thread
we need to play with 2 defensive midfield players to protect the back 4, then we can beat Spurs OR we play 3 CB's with 2 wing backs and forshaw as a DM
Re: Leeds Utd v Tottenham Hotspur Match Thread
So it seems cooper and Phillips won’t be back early march as predicted. I think cooper is almost as important at this stage, he might not be the best defender but he is a leader and gets others organised, at the moment we don’t have anyone doing that.

Go for 1-4-6 formation.
Re: Leeds Utd v Tottenham Hotspur Match Thread
Last season at home against Spurs we were off the back of that horrible away day at Brighton.
Alisoki rugby tackling, Dallas at RW. 0-2 A disaster.
Then came the Spurs game we all groaned when Bielsa fielded the same 11. Because Kane couldn't be bothered tracking back we had two goals from the left in the first half, Alioski and Harrison combining, Dallas coming in from the right and Bamford scoring the goals. Later we rescued by VAR then for the first time all season we had Koch, LLorente, Rodrigo and Raph on the pitch at the same time, albeit for 8 minutes.
But Koch, Raph and Rod combined for the third goal and we were on cloud nine.
This will depend on what Spurs team decides to show up. Conte isn't getting them to fire ( I wonder if he really wants to go to Scum instead) and they have their own injuries.
We need something that has been in short supply this season.
Luck.

Marsch OUT
Football has undergone a process of bielsification; pressing and possessing, passing rather than dribbling, intercepting high up the field rather than making last-ditch tackles, are in vogue.
Marcelo Bielsa. The light that will never go out.

Luck will be the key ingredient maybe sprinkled with good reffing, something else sadly lackingWilliam wrote: ↑Fri Feb 25, 2022 4:50 pm Last season at home against Spurs we were off the back of that horrible away day at Brighton.

Only the Merseysiders have deserved results against us since Christmas IIRC and even Everton were saved by the woodwork twice, either of which goes in and much different game.
