Re: Album of 2011 (Part III) - VOTE NOW!
On occasions have seen people re-order their initial picks, for example reversing 2nd and 3rd in their list. However, very unusual for an album not even in the initial top 5 then appearing in 2nd spot ……….unless, I guess, you hadn’t listened to it before voting the first time
I also liked it and had in 2nd spot.

There will be two new albums to me in my top three, both arrived last weekend & have been on continuous play since here in the Wolds.Muppet the Cat wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2024 8:21 am On occasions have seen people re-order their initial picks, for example reversing 2nd and 3rd in their list. I'm surprised you enjoyed the Olafur Arnalds going from your musical tastes, unless you have a secret passion for classical music.
Now there's an idea, I'd enjoy digging into my classical collection ----- a classical poll, maybe not!
Re: Album of 2011 (Part III) - Cussie, Durly, Marie, 64 to VOTE
Durly is a master for finding mellow music, from the Delines to Washington to Arnalds & many more.

I'm full of surprises, 64. I like a bit of everything.....with the one very clear exception of Jazz, which I just can't stand !1964white wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2024 10:09 am There will be two new albums to me in my top three, both arrived last weekend & have been on continuous play since here in the Wolds.

Exactly
Going back, wasn't he a metal band drummer ?
Re: Album of 2011 (Part III) - VOTE NOW!
Post rock, my foot.
Instrumental, experimental, classical influenced.
I suspect all the musicians on his album are classically trained/

Re: Album of 2011 (Part III) - Marie to VOTE
Nice to see the Beirut album as your second-highest vote. 'The Flying Club Cup' album is undoubtedly their best work, Marie.
Accordion, flugelhorn, french horn, glockenspiel, trumpet, ukulele, cello, viola & flutes don't go down too well on here.
Re: Album of 2021 (Part III) - NOMINATE NOW
Congratulations Durly.
Another one of your recommendations now on my shelves, actually in my car.
