What is required?
1. Experienced keeper.
2. CB as good as Bartley.
3. An experienced midfielder able to organize, dictate a game.
4. A proven quality striker capable to score 20 goals.
And that is the very least...

Re: What is required?
You forgot to mention the manager.
Re: What is required?
We have a manager...
He may not be the best,or even very good, but we do have a manager, and it looks like he may be here at the start of the season.

Re: What is required?
Sacking Heckingbottom first.
1. 2 CBs (since Jansson will be sold)
2. Experienced midfielder
3. CM who keeps the ball
4. Striker who can play off through balls
5. Striker who's good in the air

Re: What is required?
If no bargains or on a free (with high wages)
about 25-35 million?
Dream on...
Re: What is required?
We have players for every position, too. Most of them are on longer contracts than the manager.
We could have the best players in the league and we won't go up with Heckingbottom as manager.

Could we afford the wages of one?Genghers wrote: ↑Sat Apr 28, 2018 8:25 pm https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/43866156
3-5 of these please. No scouting required.
Re: What is required?
New manager
New mentality
Go back to playing football the TC way but with some balls and a plan B
New big dominant Captain CB
New dominant Defensive Midfielder - Captain
CF that can win a header, hold up the ball, first touch that doesn’t fly 20 yards away and can score over 20 goals in a season in the first team not in training as I suspect our current crop look amazing in training

A bumble bee under the laws of physics shouldnt be able to fly, but it does because no one has told it that it can't
Re: What is required?
Showing no ambition if we don't try

Problem is that you've pretty much described what every team outside the top 4 of the prem are after. Could be a post from an Arsenal forum any time in the last 5 years if you changed TC to AW.

Agree Genghers but if you don’t ask you don’t get

Re: What is required?
Here's the more pertinent question. How much will it take to get a guaranteed 20 goal plus a season striker and is 20 goals enough. Roofe would have scored 20 at current pace had he played 46 games as striker
"Never debate an idiot, they'll only drag you down to their level and they have the advantage of experience"
Re: What is required?
They don't come cheap. We got a bargain with Wood, as proven by the fact he went for so much more after 2 years.
You're right about Roofe, and I'm not really sure why he didn't remain up front for the rest of the season. He's the only one of our forwards who has shown any sign of consistency this season. I'd love to find someone for him to play off next year, but until we get that player in, he's first choice for me.
Think we might need to go to 2 strikers next season, with one of Saiz or Hernandez behind, as we've just not been at the races in that department this year.
If we sign no one:
------------------BPF--------------------
Ayling-Jansson-Cooper-De Bock
----------------Vieira-------------------
------Philips-----------Forshaw------
-------------Hernandez---------------
--------Ekuban-----Roofe------------
Gives us the option to switch to 4-5-1 with Roofe and Hernandez wide mid-game.
