If you are Yorkshire fan the Yorkies are taking on top of the table Somerset at Headingley & going well too
Tennis - Wimbledon Men's Final

Come on Roger
Formula One - British Grand Prix
Lewis Hamilton didn't quite make pole position as he aims to increase his healthy lead at the top of the F1 Championship

Ah cricket... great for sitting in a deckchair with the Sunday paper over your face, and dozing off in the sunshine
only to be woken up by some applause when somebody is out for a duck, then you can wake from your slumbers
and say "Well bowled Sir!!!"

Re: What a day for sport ?
I most confess to have never really followed cricket. I don't dislike it or anything, and I remember I enjoyed playing it very much earlier in my life, just never got into it as a sport.
Then one of the lads at work this week announced India were getting battered by New Zealand and I became interested, because underdog stories are cool.

Re: What a day for sport ?
My mum used to play netball for Singapore Dynamo's in the 60's when I was young, and so I got sick of watching it then... sadly never seemed to get back to enjoying it....
Re: What a day for sport ?
I'd say ODI is a good entry point for the uninitiated - a good mix of patient batting of test matches with the attacking/aggressive play of T20. England's games have all been exciting so far, so this ought to be good! As you say, underdog stories are good... neither side has won a WC either.mothbanquet wrote: ↑Sun Jul 14, 2019 6:04 am I most confess to have never really followed cricket. Going to miss this unfortunately, would rather be watching the cricket than visiting St Michaels mount which I've done so many times and not fun on an injured ankle. But she who must be obeyed etc...

Re: What a day for sport ?
I love netball - it's an underrated game (probably because it's perceived as a 'girls'' sport).
Fast paced, based in pass and move, interceptions and buckets of skill. I played in a mixed league and in terms of fitness it beat my 5-a-side games. Improved my vision as well.
The world cup is being streamed live on YouTube I believe, so you could do worse than having it on alongside the cricket on 4
Re: What a day for sport ?
Such an exciting day for sports fans. I'll be watching one thing on TV, another on tablet and recording Lewis Hamilton. ( popping down to the boat for lunch so will have to listen to the cricket on the radio whilst there )

Re: What a day for sport ?
I thought England would walk the run total that New Zealand scored....not the case. I'm finding it difficult to watch to be honest
As for the tennis, I really don't care for The Djoker very much and it looks like Federer is going to have to serve to stay in the match!
Well done Lewis
