The LUFC Breakfast Debate (Tue 12 June)
Good Morning Everybody
Its going to be a two horse race as far as Managerial candidates are concerned.
Marcelo Bielsa we know about - the other candidate is Former Angentina International Matias Almeyda.
The 44 year old played as a defensive midfielder for the likes of River Plate, Internazionale, Palma and Lazio, racking up 35 International caps for the South Americans.
He recently quit Mexican side Chivas Guadalajara, where he won three titles over his 5 year tenure.
He has also managed Riverplate and fellow Argentine outfit Banfield over his 7 year Managerial career.
Two weeks ago who would have thought that we'd probably be appointing a well known South American as our next Manager?
either appointment will not come cheap. Heckingbottom and Christiensen's combined wage will not come close to what Bielsa or Almeyda will command!
According to Phil Hay, Leeds no longer have any intentions of signing Jerry Mbakogu.
The Whites have a period of exclusivity with Italian outfit Carpi which runs out on the 30th June.
There is certainly no compulsary contract in place.
Pick a player
Ian Baird or Bobby Davison
and
John Sheridan or Steve Hodge

The 'new' manager could come from Mars...……..as long as he does the business, after many trying and failing (for one reason or another) over the years. I'm sure you're right in that it will cost the club a few bob in not only his wages, but also the investment that would be expected in the team, but then sometimes you need to 'speculate to accumulate'.
Baird and Sheridan for me.

Hi EB
Bobby Davison and Steve Hodge.
Could always rely on both to score goals. Hodge did a great job whenever he filled in for any of our first choice midfield quartet at the time. Will never forget him scoring against Liverpool soon after we were promoted back to the top flight giving us a 1-0 win, our first win against them in ages.

Un Marcelo Bielsa, solo hay un Marcelo Bielsa. Gracias Marcello. Marsching on together.

PS last week you went back in time, this week you've gone forward. We'll have to call you Marty rather than Matt

Morning Cat, I reckon you're right. Having a recognised Manager undoubtedly will attract a better class of player.Muppet the Cat wrote: ↑Tue Jun 12, 2018 7:33 am The 'new' manager could come from Mars...……..as long as he does the business, after many trying and failing (for one reason or another) over the years. I reckon our scouts will be trying to tap into the South American players market too.

I wish LUFC would put us out of misery & give us fans some respite, then three months down the line we can go through all this again

Why not?? it has worked for him for the last 64 years...

He'd have been better grabbing the shirt as he ran past him.Ellandback1 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 12, 2018 9:29 am Indeed, and back in 2011 it was worth £250,000.
I wonder what its worth now.
Plus Hodge has written a book...

I wonder if Hodge would have swapped shirt if Maradona was where he should have been.
