Re: Place needs a shake up. (UPDATE where is everyone ?)
I'd agree re the variety of threads on the site, that's certainly what keeps me coming back, particularly at this time of the year when the season is almost over. Maybe people pop in for a read but don't feel moved to post. I don't know, something has certainly changed with some of the old (i.e long-standing) members, maybe life has got in the way. It happens to us all from time to time. I don't think we're in terminal decline, just a lull

Life is certainly getting in the way for me at the moment - though I've managed to get on a bit more recently as I'm now sat at my desk doing really exciting analysis.
I've always enjoyed the variety on here, but during the off-season/when there's nothing to play for it always gets a bit quiet. I'm sure it's the same on most football forums, but at least we have the other threads to keep us going!

I made reference to the returning lunatic in my post, Ges, it's Mr Cellino. Though Gandi's suggestion of Gino works just as well!!gessa wrote:Ok then I'll ask, who's the returning lunatic?

Re: Place needs a shake up. (UPDATE where is everyone ?)
lets bung up some threads and see what happens.
Every game I predict a 3 - 1 Leeds win, I am traditional like that.

As for the Dr we keep in touch via texting now & again. I know Dr is a busy man but i beg the question 'aren't we all'.
MOT is a friendly forum with a family atmosphere, it does feel like a loss when our members suddenly go missing or post less often

Not only am i self-employed working most days including weekends when i'm not at the football.
Being a modern man i assist the lovely Mrs 64 running our home/shopping/etc
On two committee's, virtually running the the LUSC on my own with a little help from a couple of the members
Play bowls twice (sometimes three) times a week
Prepare & compere quizzes to raise money for our local church & the bowls club usually three or four times a year
Follow Leeds all over the country week in week out
I intend to spend the following free weekend doing paperwork relating to my business & updating the LUSC accounts
But i still find time & effort to make MOT lively as i have some good friends on here

VLR has been dead as well the last couple of weeks as well, after a mini revival - I'm assuming it's the off-season depression kicking in early...

And your efforts are appreciated by the rest of us, Leon, though how you find the time to bless yourself is beyond me!! It'll liven up again once things start happening, for good or bad, in the close season. Whether absent friends return remains to be seen1964white wrote:

That's my point Nick certain members keep this place alive, the majority of those who have posted on the top ten threads of this page. More of a concern is where have all the others gone ??lufc1304 wrote:

Bates, GFH, Cellino: Same s**t, different arseholes.
Re: Place needs a shake up. (UPDATE where is everyone ?)
I have several friends (four of them kop season ticket holders) who post on there. I often check by name profile of the people i know to read their posts as i haven't got the time to read many of the long-winded threads on the dark sideMartyn wrote:

Whatever everybody thinks about Twiggs, you all may want to consider that this is still (in spirit) his site and his absence is hurting us more than most anticipated.
I don't care whether anyone was offended by some of his comments, most of which were tongue in cheek anyway, he was the glue that held this place together.
I still like the place but it's absolutely not the same without him.
I've had more spats with him than I care to remember but I always respected him and still do.
Just a point of view.

Leon it's not the quality of Twigg's posts that made me like him. As faaip and others have pointed out, there was a casual racism about some of his comments and he was unpredictable as to which side of an argument he would take. Twiggs was stuck with mid-to-late 20th century social traditions when it was almost expected that everybody would call others by silly tribal epithets -
On a country level - Dago, Spick, Limey, Pom, Yank, Frog, Noggie, Kraut, Mick, Jock - on and on, ad nauseum.
On an area level - Tyke, Scouser, etc.
On a club level - Barcoder, scum, Chelscum, etc.
It was expected and reciprocated - really never meant to be taken seriously - until it was!
What I liked about Twiggs was his enthusiasm, effervescence and observation. I could never come back on here after a year or so away without him spotting me and welcoming me back. He watched everything - he was the soul of the place. He may have been a pr*ck on occasion but he loved the place and the people.
Sometimes you never know what you have until it's gone.
Others will disagree and that's their absolute right.
