If the supporters trust has had a hand in sourcing potential investors, it seems more likely that they'd be from somewhere closer to home. Adam Pearson's name was suggested somewhere - if it was someone like him I'd be pleased.

I think the best we can realistically hope for is a buyout from a sensible investor, with Bates clinging to 25% of the club, plus a job title that allows him to grab enough spotlight to vent spleen at us and the rest of the football world every now and again. Warnock gets cash to spend as soon as he returns from holiday, and we get five or six (or seven or eight) good players through the door in June and July.

The worst case scenario is pretty much that Bates will drag it out all summer long and then blame it on LUST and/or the potential investors when nowt happens by September and this summer we'll be left with Warnock, Tom Lees and Kenneth Bates and very little else.

Its fun being a leeds fan sometimes.

Likely that it is to do with most of the debt having been paid off that Bates is now selling. As shown in the recent articles the majority of the debt is now gone (at 4p in the £1). Now that people have accepted the 4p that debt is gone. Prior to that if anyone bought the club the people still owed money would no doubt have been clamouring for the full repayment but now they have accepted a payment they cannot demand any more.

As such it is likely that the profits made in recent years from player sales etc has financed those repayments. Anyone now buying the club presumably has a maximum debt level of around £4m and a club operating on a profit. Perfect time for an investor to take over now Bates has done all the dirty work that he is good at (shafting the creditors for the 'good' of the club).
