Pretty Flamingo?

Assuming Manfred Mann and not MMEB

Probably something off Glorified Magnified .. Maybe It's All Over Now Baby Blue. MM were great at recording Dylan songs

If it was a MMEB, I reckon it would be 'Joybringer', as Sara was a 7yo I'd assume an early Mann song.

Had a look through various likely Top 40 charts and can't find it.

Only song I remember was Davy's On The Road Again, but that wasn't released until April '78.

Joybringer is too late if I have my math right ...

1973.

So it must have been one of Manfred Mann's 15 top ten hits.

Never understood the line about keeping his pockets clean.

I'm not 100% certain I was 7, now I've looked into it... definitely not older than 9, though, which would be March '75.

It was quite exciting for 4 minutes about 50 years ago, anyway.

66, for some reason I thought 65. Apologies for adding a year to your age....

Then Joybringer is in play depending on release date, for 7 yrs old

Quite possibly wouldn't know if I heard it now tbh... don't think it was Joybringer though.

Also:

Turnstyle - Glow Up.

Harp - Albion
(Tim Smith ex Midlake)

GOAT - Levitation Sessions (Full Set) (YouTube it)

And lots of new stuff from Pelagic Record label.

Album, arrived today here in the Wolds.

I’m four years late to this party, but I’m so glad I finally arrived. Jeff Parker’s Suite For Max Brown is nothing short of brilliant. A coming together of jazz, hip hop, experimental sound collages, and an almost futurist psychedelia that brings to mind the best of 70s fusion that sought to open our brains as well as our ears.

Thank you Durly, once again.

Still gets to me after over 50 years listening to this song.

Breathing is a sin, they say,
Loneliness is the price to pay.
Sad for you, I go once more.
I'll dry my eyes on a distant shore.

No way of freezing your rising tide
No way of keeping you by my side.
Like a bird, I'll fly high,
Guarding over this love of mine.

A room of trust
A room of fears
A room of laughter with a few sweet tears.
There we lay that sunny dawn
Calm and helpless as it lingers on.

No way of keeping you by my side.
No way of keeping our love alive.
Like a bird, I'll fly high,
Guarding over this love of mine.

Many times we hurry by
Lose our problems in a knowing smile.
Many days were swept along
Left unnoticed as our love grew strong.

Believing each of us would always know
Believing one of us would never go.
Like a bird, I'll fly high
Watching over this love of mine.

A most underrated band, almost unknown. Very distinctive sound, they made masterpieces.

Martin Turner is on down the road, at The Globe, in a couple of weeks as part of his 'Live Dates Vol.2 Tour'.

He must be nearer 80 than 70, by now :duno:
