Couple of thoughts, that's not The White Stripes best album for me ... hence nil points from the Guildford jury. The Rage deserves to be on the board, it's a good album that I had 6th..

Margo Price has produced the best Country album of recent times .

Another I somewhat stumbled across, faaip.....it must be very unusual I ever put anything up that firstly, you haven't previously heard of/listened to; and, secondly you enjoy/rate.

Beyond The Fields We Know the best track on there for me.

Also, liked the APC - whilst I'd come across it before I've never particularly paid attention and listened all the way through

1964white wrote: Tue Mar 05, 2024 11:43 am Enjoying the Laura album 8-) you clearly love modern country female vocalists as you came up with a beauty in 'Big Time' by Angel Olsen, an album that has really grown on both Mrs 64 & myself. I'm now looking to purchase more of her albums.

Did you listen to the Delines album 'Sea Drift', it's another grower? Amy Boone has such a gorgeous voice.

Thanks for the Eels votes, another album that should be in the majority of music lovers collections.
I do like a lot of female country influenced vocalists such as Nanci Griffiths, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Lucinda Williams and Alison Krauss, mainly those who write their own songs rather than those from the nashville production line. For some reason i increasingly prefer female vocalists generally as i get older.

I'm glad you like AngeI, i never really thought of her as country although there are definitely country influences, especially on Big Time.

I did listen to the Delines album when you recommended it and liked it but not since so i'll have to revisit it.

Congratulations Sniffer.

Shame the brilliant Eels album just missed out, but I'm happy with the Cash album won, as I gave it two votes.
