Time to grow some balls McDermott

Managers make tough decisions, time for you to show your worth !

Other managers have sussed the formation we've been playing....we have no one who can play upfront on their own so time to resort to 4-1-3-2

Kenny

Byram Pearce Zaliukas Warnock

Brown

I like the back four pal it has to work better than the 3 defenders , and so called wing backs to me.It was worth it for the points we won i suppose til xmas. But the midfield is/was to easy for a lot of counter teams.I see you have relied on roughly 5 regulars three of these defenders the others 1 midfield and ross up top.So half of side are unchanged. The middle still looks for me too static and your`e right something needs to be done .It `s ok on paper anyway and probable has that experience look to it.so why not?

You KNOW things are bad, when Brown is suggested as a starting choice at HOME!

Just out of interest, is there a reason you chose Kebe over Stewart? From what I saw of the game, Stewart looked as if he was at least trying harder than Kebe did.

For me;

Kenny
Byram Pearce Zaliukas Warnock
Kebe Tonge Murphy Stewart
McCormack Varney

Pearce over Lees and Tonge over Brown because they are less likely to hoof the ball up the pitch. Zaliukas, allowed one poor game but hopefully thats out of his system now. Thankfully he's put in superb performances to allow that slip up...Rachubka never done that and one terrible game was the ending of him.

I think Brown has started three games, played well in two of them including a MOTM performance v Chesterfield

A much better % rate than the beach whale

Kebe looked the better of the two from where I was standing, neither were good. I have serious reservations about Stewart but I' ll give both Kebe & Stewart the benefit of doubt & make my judgement on the pair after a few games. Felt a bit sorry for them both on Saturday tbh.....Wells would have excited me from the off but once again we missed a trick !

Dependant on whether Smith is banned I would go 442 or 451.

GK Kenny
LB Pugh/Warnock (don't think Pugh has done badly but seems like the tide has turned against him with the fans now clamouring for Warnock, the fella they were lambasting recently)
RB Byram
CB Pearce
CB Z - despite poor form of late is the experienced head to build the defence around
CM Mowatt
CM Murphy
LW Stewart
RW Kebe
FW Smith (Austin in the def mid role in a 4-5-1 if Smith is banned allowing Mowatt and Murphy to get forward to support RMc)
FW McCormack

Mowatt?? For all the sniping at Rodi and others, this kid has been an absolute fairy in the past few games and looked in absolute panick. No challenge, no balls... Nothing. I really thought he was a gem earlier in the season and I hope he will come through for us next season, but he needs loaning out NOW, as he is a liability ATM.

This is my formation
push our LB&RB up to midfield and push LW/RW up to Ross and other striker
Attacking but still a safe option

Smith's red card appeal over-ruled, so he'll still be suspended (potentially for 4 games now...).

Absolutely pathetic, was never a red.

They overturned Wes Brown's and that was much more 'dangerous'.

Unfortunately, Kebe and Stewart must make positive impacts against Leicester. Hate to place that burden on them right away, but we need them to step up and take command at their respective positions. Certain players need to be dropped, like Pugh and Austin, but not sure we have qualified back-ups at this point. Surely last match was the bottom of the barrel, right?

I'd be tempted to play brown as an attacking midfielder breaking up play in the oppositions half. Did you know he once scored 23 goals in a season under Colin

That was many moons ago sadly Joe......Brown is nowhere near that level these days. He just hasnt got the engine to get up and down the pitch.

What's the situation with Paul Green ? If Austin is to be dropped, and despite he's poor form of late, I am not sure I would do that yet personally, Green is the only real replacement I can see in that defensive midfielder role.
