Man, oh man, is this a tough choice.........

Beach Boys
Kinks
Zappa
13th Floor Elevators
Dylan

Although I honestly could have voted for any of the nominees in the top five. It hurt not to vote for Tim Buckley, or Simon and Garfunkle, or Wilson Pickett, or Coltrane, or.........

I own nearly all of these albums and still listen to them all.

Most blues and rock players will cite the beano album as being of particular influence. Probably more so than anything on here to be fair, but everyone to their own.

Some great guitar playing on that album & in his Cream days Gandi, Clapton is a top guitarist contrary to what others think!

I own the Blues Breakers album, have done since the mid/late seventies. It's good just nowhere near top 5 good. there are 2 or 3 tracks I skip not least Ramblin' on my Mind and I don't like the cover of the Ray Charles

Opinions, Zappa one of my favourites but I'd say lots of people probably find his music and lyrics particularly challenging to get through. Dylan great poet imo.

Exactly ..But we were asked. I prefer Zappa's later stuff these days. Well later released .Imaginary Diseases probably gets the most playtime here outside of Hot Rats. Been to Kansas City in A minor is a particular favourite. I own around 40 Zappa albums on CD another 20 on Vinyl or Cassette

Shut up and Play Your Guitar series gets a heavy rotation too. Zappa sits atop my Guitarist rankings ..always will

I'm about halfway through what is a excellent selection of albums from 1966

Happy listening everyone 8-)
As most, working from home as from today 64, so am making some good progress on getting through these - a good few to get through as unlike many who own many/most of them I have hard copies of the grand total of 2 of them :) (as it happens Revolver and your nomination Pet Sounds, which I bought as it appears on so many 'Greatest Ever' album lists so thought I should give it a fair crack, which I've done, but just not for me I'm afraid)
