Illan Meslier

Post by Cjay »

19 year old 6ft6 French Youth international goalkeeper.

Played 2 games at the U20 World Cup.

Has played at other youth levels.

Played some games for the Lorient first team and been linked with Chelsea in the past.

However the loan has no option to buy.

Little bit odd tbh.

But all being well welcome :)

Confirmed.

L'Equipe reporting an option to buy included in the deal. :)

Allez!

I just read that there is an option to buy. Not sure how much credit to give it though.

What a debut

Passed the ball like a top midfielder

If Nelson hadn't shinned his strike, he'd have saved that one too...

He certainly would

At least we can claim the gooners needed a scrappy goal to beat us

Biggest credit can pay him is he hasnt looked out of place.

Lots of pressure for those young shoulders and he hasnt buckled.

Credit to him.

Amazing to think he is only 20. Is he the youngest goalie in the Championship? Full of praise for the way he has handled the big occasions. Seems to about his work with minimal fuss, unlike Casillas.

We're a different Team with him at the back. Imagine how nervous we'd have been with kiko in, not to mention how many mistakes he would have made.

I'm a massive fan of this lad.

Can't help but think we'd already be up if he'd got a chance when Kiko was flapping all over the place in Dec-Feb.
