He did a decent job at Leeds , however it's turned out better long term for Leeds than Monk , that's how it goes . I think it's difficult to compare him with many previous managers is the one's that served under Bates , as those managers while probably mostly poor , were extremely handicapped in serving in Bates era . You certainly wouldn't want to see Monkball now after Bielsaball .

I like Pulis as a man but surely his style of play is a little more than antiquated

Monk better than Pulis IMO . He won't be taking them up so it's a don't get relegated appointment . The football will be beyond four . I know Albion and Stoke fans , bar none they don't like Pulisball .

He took both out of the doldrums and they put up with his style because they improved results wise but after a while they got bored to tears, as with McCarthy at Wolves. Imo though, Wolves fans should give MM the utmost respect, he really got them started on the road to where they are now.
