Can we give Blackburn a run for there money?

Post by leedsmad »

What are the general thoughts on our upcoming game vs Blackburn next Saturday. Lutv is my only way to live games . This morning sounded like Peterbrough were poor in the commentary

Of course we can. We won't play them off the park with our scintillating football, but we are certainly capable of beating them. They had a good result at home today, but I suspect they won't travel well. Oh, and whilst it's a bit early to be saying this, and he did slag of Alardyce (which is no bad thing), Steve Kean is a knob!

We have to make Elland road a place were visitors hate coming to (like the old days) . I fear the crowd numbers will start to go (over this take over thing) . If we are down say 2-0 to Blackburn i fear negative chants will start out of fustration of lack of funds to the squad IMO. Like Warnock says we need another 4 real stars to push it on, but unless takeover happens we got no chance . So bloody frustrating. M.O.T

The T/O is dragging the life out of everyone but, if it doesn't effect how the team performs (and I don't believe it has done, so far) then I think ER can become a fortress again. Yes, we'd love an extra three or four quality players to really push on with but, as things stand, we aren't getting them. As this team starts to gel, we'll not be anybody's pushovers.

Always been a rollercoaster being a Leeds fan, doesn't look like it's going to change anytime soon. MOT!!

I see no reason we can't beat them. Yes, we playing a terrible brand of football, which I detest, but it will work against a lot of teams.

Being at home, I am confident of he 3 points.

Exactly Kyle, it's horses for courses mate. We'd all love us to play 'sexy' football but we don't have the personnel to do that (they cost money, in the main, and we don't have any!). As it is, if a solid work ethic and direct football gets us positive results then, feck it, I'll live with it. For now!

I painted my garden fence today, which made me VERY thirsty this evening. Apologies, but what does your last post actually mean? Genuinely hoping it isn't a famous quote, otherwise I'm going to look like a right tit!!

Not on the last two away performances but with United you never know what team is going to turn up.

How much are the tickets for this game? If they are sky high again then ER wont be particularly full.

Unless prices drop considerably, ER wont ever be a fortress again. Even if it were, as I said in another thread, our players tend to freeze in front of large home crowds.

Blackburn are defo beatable... I like the way Warnock is setting us up. He's signed players to do a job, which they do. Might not be sexy football, but 6 points from 9 (with 2 of those matches away) is a good start to the season... Its all about Momentum, and a winning mentality. Key for us will be if we get a few more injuries, and how we cope with that...

MOT!

Actually, Im not going to many home games this season, as my son is working on a Saturday and its not practical for me to go on my own (as I need a "carer" - being ambulant disabled) so there is a pretty good chance we will do quite well at home.
