Re: Cricket 2023/2024
A marathon innings from Glamorgan captain Sam Northeast frustrated Yorkshire’s victory bid on the final day with a little help from the weather. Glamorgan were precariously placed on 372-7, 74 runs ahead with three wickets remaining when lightning interrupted play in the last session. Northeast bat...

Re: Loan Watch
Llorente and Aronson have something in common, they both lead the MOT MOTM stats through around 15 games start of both their first seasons here... Both were lauded on MOT at the time.... Llorente got injured and never really played as RCB much at all after that. Aaronson got bullied and fouled every...

Re: Loan Watch
Llorente is a far better centre half than Rodon and Kristensen is better than Gray/Roberts at right back. Just my opinion of course. Oh and Aaronson is the attacking midfielder we've all been crying out for. Now how do we convince them to give us one more season assuming we fail in the play offs ? ...

Re: Georginio Rutter-
Tough game for Joseph to make any meaningful contribution. The reality is - it does not matter how good your 9 happens to be if you cannot progress the ball up the pitch. I forgot Joseph was on the pitch watching the game. Ironically, he still made someone’s top 6 in the ratings. When Meslier had n...

Re: Junior Firpo
Depends on whether you want to play wing backs or full backs, a lot of great wing backs are crap defenders. They're basically midfielders. Leif Davis isn't a great defender at the championship level eitherPhoenixUnited wrote: ↑Tue May 07, 2024 8:30 am Another one that might be OK going forward but can't defend for toffee? No thanks

Rutter has 1. Has been clattered week in week out, that has to take a toll on the body 2. Played more games in a season than ever before 3. Had surgery No wonder he is gubbed Im wondering if the reason that Piroe hasnt had as good a season as we needed is because Rutter has? Was the reason that DF ...

Re: Album of 2021 (Part III) - NOMINATE NOW
I reckon since the middle of March I've listened to the Lethian Dreams 'A Shadow of Memories' album that she nominated for the 2020 poll more than anything else. It's excellent ! Have also now worked my way through the other 5 or 6 EPs/albums, together with the Remembrance and Aythis output (althou...

Re: Bring back Jesse
Wasn't saying they are the same. I think Farke is probably a better coach overall. But they are much more similar tactical wise than different. Marsch had basically stolen a Rangnick book and copied his ideas word for word. Farke has taken a lot of elements of Rangnick's style and added little bits...

Re: Bring back Jesse
Marsch and Farke are cut from the same cloth. Marsch was heavily influenced by Rangnick and Farke is part of that generation of German coaches who took there inspiration from people like Klopp who was influenced by Rangnick himself. Is a thread tying them all together hence the similarities. Narrow...

Nice winner, Durly  I hadn't listened to the LRS album before. Although the RY X - Olafur Arnalds track, Oceans is a favourite of mine There's a new Arnolds collab out this year I think, not listened to that yet though as Sara is keeping me busy with other recommendations and they're not easy ...

Re: Bring back Jesse
Assume Farke is left handed, because we hardly ever use the right hand side of the pitch. lol, We use inverted wingers, and we started with inverted full backs until Firpo started and even he comes in a lot. Inverted wingers play narrower obviously, so we're not helping ourselves by compressing the...
