Re: England kit
Society is already pretty close to breaking down so why not remove the last vestiges of unity we have. we can all have a play around with the flag and have different marauding factions ruling the country, oh just imagine how harmonious and peaceful it would be. Society is breaking down because glob...

Re: General Chat
The great thing about dog friendly pubs is that you get to have a go on other people's dogs. I'm not a dog owner, but I do have a number of doggy friends that I like to meet in the pub.

Re: General Chat
had to say goodbye to my best mate on Tuesday (see avatar picture). He would have been 15 in September, he joined us at 2 years old, and he has been at our side every single day ever since, literally every day, some 4,500 days in total. So sorry to hear that you've lost your canine friend. Such a s...

Not sure it'll be your sort of thing... I was just in the right mood when I first heard it, and it's stuck.

Can't imagine who would apart from me, and I've had to go for the LD because I've had it on repeat for weeks now.The Subhuman wrote: ↑Tue Mar 19, 2024 6:03 pm hoping Emma Ruth Rundle/Thou's - May Our Chambers Be Full - gets put up by someone else

Re: Happy Birthday Sara (58)
Is photography a hobby of yours? Given that you seem to have an appreciation for the beauty of the "ordinary," I'm guessing you'd have a good eye. My wife and I quite like taking pictures - nature photography in particular. Not really, only the occasional snapshot. Sometimes the spirit of...

Re: Retirement
Couldn't have said it better myself, Sara. Glad you were able to see some of the "universal in the particular" on your trip :) For whatever reason, stone, rock, boulders, etc. have always been special to me. It's a love my wife and I share and is one of the reasons we moved to the Appalac...

I'm the same... seeing the universal in the particular. Today it was a few colourful rocks, and the way the water glistened on them, which kept me fascinated for an hour or so.AcrossThePondAsh wrote: ↑Mon Mar 18, 2024 1:05 pm I can be utterly engaged in something as simple as a rock in the woods

You'll have to let me know what you think of Dagon if you end up checking it out. After looking them over, I'll definitely be giving these a listen, Sara. Thanks so much for the recommendations. Love the premise of this most recent one you suggested too--they had me at Alan Moore and "From Hel...

Re: Happy Birthday Sara (58)
A picture's worth a thousand words at all, but I've a feeling they definitely don't do justice to that place. Have a safe trip and enjoy your special day :) Didn't take any pictures today as I didn't bother taking the phone. Difficult to do justice to it anyway, as you say - it's the quality of lig...
