Re: Too much too quickly?

It's such a fascinating time of the season. It will be very interesting to see how the First XI emerges early in the season. Will TC base his team mainly around the existing better players or go for quite a different mix with plenty of the newbies heavily involved? I think there is a need for a core...

Re: So what is the minimum requirement ?

Now the season has got very exciting - hope the players & coaches are excited/motivated by this new challenge which requires a different mentality, as GM notes. Still in our hands, as recognized by other posters. It's stating the obvious to say that we need to get the wins so that the Wed/Fulham...

Re: Newcastle v Leeds - Team/News/Reports/Ratings

While our good work with the ball was very spasmodic, it was great to see that move late in the game to produce such as excellent goal, a terrific reward for the effort and intent on display. Isn't that the best kind of point, the one achieved when it seems that we will get none? I'll rate every pla...

Re: Next Four Games - Wolves/Burton/Norwich/Wigan

After a series of almost meaningless end-of-season matches in recent years what a bonus it is for fans of LUFC that we are well in the playoff mix with these potentially exciting matches to come, all games winnable but draws & losses just as possible. I'm expecting that every game will have some...

Re: Leeds v Sheff Wed - MAN OF THE MATCH

Many players to consider : whole back 5, Wood and Pablo who produced some classy moments which should have lead to us increasing the scoreline.

For an all round attacking & defensive performance, plus leadership & goal I'll go for Wood, from Green.

Cheers,

Re: Leeds v Sheff Wed - Team/News/Reports/Ratings

I'm really enjoying & appreciating the resilience and focus of this team - really committed as a unit to getting the job done. Defensive qualities are impressive, consistently show skill & steel. With the ball work is nowhere near as consistent, sometimes really impressive but spoiled by som...

Re: Leeds v Derby - Reports/Ratings Inc the Full Match

Interesting comment there re Doukara, 64. I'm a bit of a fan & always thought he had plenty to offer since his early days at Leeds when he showed bits & pieces of impressive skill & attributes. He is a real handful - when on his game - and is quite a smart footballer. I'm hopeful we'll s...

Re: Leeds v Derby - MAN OF THE MATCH

It's a great sign that there are so many worthy candidates for this accolade. I'm going with Ayling - his convincing performance in a relatively unfamiliar position has helped ensure that our back 5 has remained as miserly as ever, so vital when the slender margin left us vulnerable to being undeser...

Re: Leeds v Derby - Team/News/Reports/Ratings

Impressive full match performance from all accounts. Regrettable slept in and only caught final 20 or so mins on TV. Would have loved to see Vieira score at the end to cap it off. The tight scoreline probably ensured that the team kept at it right to the FT whistle - had a deserved 3-0 HT lead ensue...

5 big Leeds players not on field.
I'd take our current position.
Started 2nd half with attacking intent.

Re: Norwich v Leeds - Team/Reports/Ratings

What a brilliant way to go into the international break - on a run taking us into the top 6, next up NUFC, and already booked for Anfield and a cup quarter final. Nice time to have a mini reflection on progress over the first third of the season. We have a number of players playing well, including a...

Re: Leeds v Barnsley - Man Of The Match

It's such a good sign that we are getting healthy debate about a number of strong contributors match after match.
Can't vote unfortunately.

I'd be interested to hear from others about the attributes of young Phillips as I've seen little of him.

Re: Leeds v Barnsley - Team/News/Reports

V important game just prior to international break - good result here will make big difference not just to points tally/ladder position. Like 64 and others I'm hoping that Jansson is good to go as he seems to be providing not only an additional defensive edge but also some kind of spiritual boost to...

Re: Bristol City v Leeds - Team/Reports/Ratings

Definitely a good test for our team at this stage - a clean sheet would be a really good achievement and a low scoring win is a fair possibility.
Let's hope we start getting a wider spread of goalscorers.

Re: Chris Wood

Wood is a good player at this level, not great, and has plenty of potential for development. Hopefully will grow as a player along with this team which contains a number of players with potential to develop. No doubt over this season he will continue to frustrate at times but might also have some 'd...

Re: Cardiff v Leeds - Team/Reports/Ratings

Was good to see the progress made since my previous live TV viewing versus QPR. Enjoyable particularly was the way we grew into the game - scratched around for significant patches of 1st half while showing a degree of organization & tenacity in defence, plus occasional genuine goal threat. Progr...

Re: QPR v Leeds - Team News/Reports/Ratings....

Having been well outplayed for much of the match I thought it was helpful that the scoreline reflected a convincing loss so that there could be no mistaking the need for a significant reaction by the coaching staff & players, as well as the recruiting staff. It means also that supporter expectat...

The off field team does look encouraging. Can other posters recall when we most recently had a relatively contemporary top league striker on our coaching staff?
