Re: O/T The Music Discussion Thread

Today's (not entirely patient selected) endoscopy playlist: Rolo Tomassi - Astraea Anathema - Weather Systems Devin Townsend Project - Ghost Strauss - Blue Danube, Emperor Waltz, Pizzicato Polka, Tales From The Viennese Woods Coldplay - A Rush Of Blood To The Head Surely, any endoscopy playlist sho...

Re: O/T The Music Discussion Thread

Kate simplified and re-cut 'Moments Of Pleasure' for the excellent Director's Cut last year. In doing so she made it my favourite of her songs. The ending, where she recites a litany of people close to her who have died, is completely devastating. YXKLWStu9iw I agree. It's beautiful and heartrendin...

Re: O/T The Music Discussion Thread

I like Hounds well enough, but it's not her best work..though it is vastly superior to Snow which has already won so anything is possible I guess. It would be an irony if Kate got her only win with her worst album. I thought 50 Words For Snow was a really good album. Probably the best thing she'd d...

Re: O/T The Music Discussion Thread

At last ! New Order's best album nominated  never fear the Smiths will miss out in the polls with me around Atticus  Kate's album is a cracker too :luv: Great album is Low Life. Reminds me of a great time in my life. Hounds Of Love is, in my opinion, one of the best abums ever made.

Re: O/T The Music Discussion Thread

I never got it with Queen. My brother always loved them but I hated them. Good musicians, unquestionably but their music leaves me absolutely cold.

Something a tad more mellow, before I turn in, from the recently departed and always wonderful Terry Callier.

Re: O/T The Music Discussion Thread

If I'm honest, I have a bit of a thing for Hollie Cook which concerns me a bit as I'm probably old enough to be her Dad (although I'm not as old as Paul Cook himself).

Re: O/T The Music Discussion Thread

What was your waccoe username Durly ? I was "Durly" on Waccoe for a long time but I changed it to "Atticus Finch" on there a few years ago. I'd probably changed my name by the time the music polls had taken off on the old thread over there. Still post on there as AF. Thought I'd...

Re: RIP Paul

Just want to reiterate what others have said really. I met Paul a few times over the years and he was a lovely bloke and tremendous company. Every time I saw him we seemed to end up talking about music and in particular our shared love of John Coltrane. I hadn't seen or spoken with him in a fair whi...
