Re: Super League

This constant merry go round of players swops and loans is making my head spin. I pity the poor old spectator, one week they’re shouting abuse at a player, the next they’re having to shout for him. It’s making a mockery of the sport. If you lose one week it seems like you just boot one player out an...

The beach by the railway line, through the tunnel? ... remember it well, that and the family picnics on the Bin. Dad worked a lot in Scotland for Marconi Space and Defence, (sonar engineer). This was an extended stay of over a year so the whole family went up. Not been back since my early twenties....

Re: Volunteers

So, you are in charge of Scottish football, OB. :-D We'll have to find a way of including the Glasgow/Edinburgh clubs. Ironically enough, we were chatting to a Glaswegian couple, who happen to say good morning to us, a rarity in this area, something the majority of southerners don't do! Are you sur...

Re: Volunteers

Burntisland. Know it well, my eldest (about 8 then) got a wicked jellyfish sting on that beach, hospitalised for two days. Later that same summer he spent overnight in Glasgow kids, after head butting the wall at an ice rink. The only way he could stop, he said. It never affected him though, he’s a ...

C'mon Raith, my "home town" team ... Good season for them So, a Kirkcaldy man, eh? My hometown is not far from there, Cowdenbeath, who had their usual drench season, now nestled firmly in the lower half of the aptly named Lowland league. When this season dies down I shall post a topic to ...

Re: Norwich pre match chat

I think we know exactly what to expect, if Farke called last weekends game plan “risky”: it’s back to square one. I didn’t see anything risky at all, just more of the same. So, slow build up, me-to-you-to-me passing along the back, then every forward on the field for the last 10 minutes when we are ...

Suppose I’m the one for Scottish football, though what that entails is beyond my imagination right now. One thing I do promise though, there will be no mention of Celtic, or Hibernian. Rangers and Hearts, yes. I’m all for balance.

Re: Loan Watch

Sad but true which means I've now zero emotional attachment to any the players which also works in reverse with those that left on loan. If they choose to come back then fine and if they go out on loan again then I'm fine with that also. The saddest thing about that statement is I agree. I didn’t r...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Tuesday 7th May) Former Chelsea forward on Leeds radar

I am appalled at the suggestion that wearing a pink strip would be harmful to the skills and playing abilities of the Leeds team and it is a disgrace even to suggest that the decision to have a pink strip falls into a Bud lite category, because our research has shown that the ideals that are most f...

Re: Pick your team against Norwich

I have seen grains of sand fall from a funnel to build a sand pile which grows taller with every grain dropped, but this process does not continue indefinately. Stress and tension builds up in the system and even though the sand falls at the same rate, there comes a point where is an avalanche effe...

Re: Bring back Jesse

Maybe it’s an intentional defence formation designed to stop anything getting through. I don’t have the exact German-English translation, but I think it’s called “the Berlin Wall”.

And as history will record, nothing ever got through the real version.

Re: predictions of where we will finish next season

For me it’s got nothing to do with pre and early season predictions, todays disappointment is based upon our catastrophic decline over the past handful of games. Maybe we flattered to deceive, but who, in March, foresaw this dramatic drop off in performance, and the lack of a cohesive plan to remedy...

Re: Southampton post match discussion

I live in Morley so not far from elland road (can walk it in 25 min from churwell). Anyway my three cents, got back from the game, the mood was pretty much dead, at the end, quiet applause (some boos). Sure we qualified for the play offs, but nobody has any confidence at all. I went into town cente...
