Re: QPR v Leeds Utd - Post Match Discussion

Going back to our coach. If those who want Farke sacked, who replaces him & are we going to better off with a new man in charge? Highly likely imo! Leeds under Don Revie were not promoted in his first season. Belisa didn't get Leeds up in his first season. Farke's Norwich were not promoted in h...

Re: Illan Meslier

Absolutely not. See my posts above on Meslier. He’s a decent enough young keeper, nothing more, nothing less. Talk of anything north of £25M is pie in the sky for me. You rely on stats heavily, hence my tongue in cheek comment. He’s the 4th best statistically, but got a chance of winning the golden...

Do you hand on heart think he is the best goalie in the league though? Because thats the implication. :)

He isn't

Re: Premier League debate

We've done it 21 times incidentally

7 times since 1945 for Villa is the same amount of times we've done it in the bloody Premier League.

Now look where we are and they are.

Depressing

Re: Illan Meslier

Rather strange turn of events. Illan Meslier is guaranteed to win the Championship Golden Glove for most clean sheets. Admittedly with an usually low total as over the last , 9 seasons its been rare to win it with less than 20 clean sheets, Mes can get 19 at most. He is also statistically the 4th wo...

Re: MOT's Young Player Of The 2023/24 Season (21yo or under). PLEASE VOTE AGAIN.

Really really difficult. In context Archie has been immense because of his age because he's been asked to play in unfamiliar positions all season and because of how much football he's been forced into playing. He's been asked to do much much more than is normal for any talented 17/18 year old even t...

You need to learn the art of psychology

Change the poll title to

"Is Bielsa overrated"

Then more will view the post and then votes will come

Re: I want playoff football and here's why

I don't see a problem with us tactically. For basically all of this season we have been chasing Ipswich and Leicester and have been having to try to force the issue in matches. Given that we wouldn't need to force anything in the play-offs our way of playing could be very effective, dominate posses...

Re: QPR v Leeds Utd - Post Match Discussion

Some big successes: Firpo (never thought I'd say that) Struijk Raphinha Bamford Gnonto Summerville Alioski Rodrigo? Georginio? Adams? Harrison? Saiz? Failures: Meslier Kristensen De Bock Koch Llorente Wober? Douglas Roca JKA Forshaw Roberts James? Not all bad and some real gems there. But also some...

Re: I want playoff football and here's why

Playoffs are basically knockout football.

They can often be decided by special individuals and talent.

If that's the case we have a good chance.

If its decided by in game management and tactical battles we are in trouble.

Anyway we could be promoted by this time next week

Is this a debate about in general or whose left?

Apart from James and to a lesser degree Firpo (all be it a £13mil full back at this level is phenomenally expensive).

Possibly right.

In general he spent a fortune on quite a lot of crap.

Re: QPR v Leeds Utd - Post Match Discussion

I can also drink coffee and eat cake- he is just a big timer. Sacking Farke having achieved 90 points is a ridiculous concept in my opinion. Do I think he is untouchable - No. if we do not go up I would be hugely surprised if he is not in charge next season. Although the board will expect nothing l...

Genuinely hadn't noticed and hasn't been mentioned I don't think.

Poor Udders as irrelevant as they have been for 100 years.

Re: QPR v Leeds Utd - Post Match Discussion

Think some have just put so much into hyping Farke, they don't want to accept any fallacies. Big Sam, Gracia and Marsch would all be slated for the things Farke gets a free pass for. I could understand it with Bielsa, since he had all that legacy, but Farke? He's just an average manager who will be...

Re: QPR v Leeds Utd - Post Match Discussion

The problem is we signed them for the PL and not the Championship, so they will only go down as poor signings tbh. Not so much Summerville and Gnonto, but the likes of James and Rutter definitely. Poor signings for where we were fine for now. He was raving few months back about how well Georgie was...

Re: QPR v Leeds Utd - Post Match Discussion

The summer thing is overrated anyway. Gnonto and Sinisterra refused to play in 2 games, so we only dropped 5 points over that time. We dropped more than that over Christmas. Summer doesn't excuse woeful performances against QPR, Preston, Stoke, West Brom, Sunderland, Rotherham, Coventry etc. I agre...

Re: QPR v Leeds Utd - Post Match Discussion

Orta signed them for the future….and let’s not forget James was a player Bielsa had to have, not that that was wrong. Orta’s youth team stuff was just top class I won't debate Orta as I thought he was a pretty useless arrogant tosser focused on his own reputation and his desire to sign the next big...

Re: QPR v Leeds Utd - Post Match Discussion

I remember I said in the summer that Summerville and Gnonto should be scoring 20 goals at this level, using Nathan Tella as an example for why. Gnonto probably would if he wasn't frozen out in the first half of the season. This idea that they weren't good enough for the Championship and Farke made ...
