Re: Trump
Could you explain the red hand in the St. George's flag I have always wondered about that... and does Nick Cave's Red right hand have anything to do with NI?

Re: Trump
Like everything else it’ll depend which version you want to listen to. The Red Cross is the de Burgh cross rather than St George’s cross & the red hand comes from ancient clans racing across a lake where the first man to touch the land on the other side would be named king. One Chieftain who had fallen behind cut off his hand & threw it onto land and was named king hence the bloody hand. ( Don’t think I’ve ever used ‘hence’ in a sentence before )
It’s also the seal of the O’Neill family & sits on a 6 pointed star which represents the 6 counties of Northern Ireland.
Reading up on the Nick Cave song it apparently comes from John Milton’s ‘Paradise Lost’ poem where it mentions “ His red right hand to plague us “. That’s a new one on me.

Nobody knows what I'm going to do,' says Trump when asked about potential of US strikes on Iran
Indeed that includes himself

Trump is 100% wrong.
Absolutely nothing he has done so far (and not done) is a surprise!
I remember very well his statement during the campaign, that he would assist Netanyahu in " finishing the job" .
Re: Trump
Problem with Trumpy is he forgets what he's said.
He's criticised other presidents for starting wars and said Obama would attack Iran to win an election and he'd never do that.
He's an ego maniac

Re: Trump
He's unstable and manifestly unfit which makes him a real danger for our country and the rest of the world. Plus, he's surrounded himself with people just as unfit.
Can't even begin to describe how sick he makes me.

Just like Starmer... we will not jump on the far right bandwagon and have an enquiry in to grooming gangs.
Except he just did.

Re: Trump
I am more than alarmed at the way the President of the United States, on his own accord, without the approval of (or even consulting with) Congressional leadership, committed the United States to war.
Congress has for decades now, under both Republican and Democratic presidents, ceded its responsibility for declaring war to a single individual. This sort of power is the absolute antithesis of a democratic republic.
Benjamin Franklin said the founders gifted us with a republic if we could keep it. We've clearly demonstrated we can't.

Re: Trump
Striking Iranian nuclear weapons manufacturing sites is the right thing to do providing one has 100% concrete proof. At present the strikes are based on only a decades long suspicion.
If Iran only has peaceful civilian nuclear intentions then the west is striking Iranian facilities to force a regime change that allies with western powers wishing to control the Iranian oil and gas wealth.
Trump hasn't declared war on Iran and neither has WWIII erupted. He has only paid his neo con backers their first installment and should Iran continue the retaliation then these Trump financiers will receive further installments. Should Irans government collapse then Yemen, Hezbollah, Hamas will be vulnerable to defeat as the IDF expands it's operations according to the greater Israel promise. Genesis 15:18-21 and Deuteronomy 11:24
What's the alternative to endless missile strikes, escalating tensions and a world heading towards catastrophe?
