Re: Glen Kamara- Topics merged
"Rangers podcast Four Lads Had A Dream, a commercial sponsor for the Ibrox club, reported last night that deal has been agreed with Leeds to see the club sign midfielder Glen Kamara.
A fee of £5million is said to be the price Leeds are paying, with add-ons on top of that based on promotion, while a sell-on is also included.
The only thing seemingly standing in the way for Leeds is to agree personal terms with Kamara himself, which seems to be a minor obstacle, given the player’s lack of involvement this season."

Re: Glen Kamara- Topics merged
The Glasgow Herald has a quote from Beale which concerns me. He says that Kamara would be welcomed back into the squad if the Leeds deal doesn’t go through.
Now why would he say something like that?

With Kamara and Gruev signings, does this mean we cover the “10” role with Summerville, Archie and Piroe in whatever configuration, or even Ampadu moving forward?

Second thought, how would Gruev do at left wing back

I don’t see that happening at all.LeedsandtheBadSeeds wrote: ↑Thu Aug 31, 2023 2:55 pm With Kamara and Gruev signings, does this mean we cover the “10” role with Summerville, Archie and Piroe in whatever configuration, or even Ampadu moving forward?
He’s been fantastic where he has been playing, if it ain’t broke and all that.

Its certainly going to be good competition for the 6-8 spot. I would like to see Archie further forward in a 4-3-3.LeedsandtheBadSeeds wrote: ↑Thu Aug 31, 2023 2:55 pm With Kamara and Gruev signings, does this mean we cover the “10” role with Summerville, Archie and Piroe in whatever configuration, or even Ampadu moving forward?

4-3-3 seems to be the lower risk option until the squad really gets to know one another. But with Piroe now, we could have the option of 1 upfront. 4-2-3-1?

I'm surprised that we signed both Gruev and Kamara. That's 2 DM's. 3in the squad now.
I really thought we'd sign 1 DM and 1 AM.
It might be a slight adjustment in philosophy. Maybe we're going to play 2 deep lying midfielders. That would push Archie to the bench. Understandable. He's still a kid.
Maybe 2 DM's in the starting XI - a back 6 - allows us to be more gung ho up front. Maybe we'll play 4 attackers every week. With 2 DM's, they wouldn't need to back track so much.

Feel like this defence still needs a lot of protection! Solid in the middle, craft out wide.

He might want Ampadu playing CH at times.andrewjohnsmith wrote: ↑Thu Aug 31, 2023 5:44 pm I'm surprised that we signed both Gruev and Kamara. That's 2 DM's. 3in the squad now.

I had thought about Gray playing a bit further forward. I think he has the ability and can pass the ball well. Give him a bit of freedom into the bargain with more defence minded players behind him.
Might not work depending on what way Farke wants to play but i wouldnt like to think Gray will sit on the bench too much, be a real waste. Give him a rest now and then so he doesn't burn out.

Kammy’s not going to be match fit til October. He’s reportedly been training on his own away from Ibrox so no chance he’s ready.

He has shown some real class at moments in the21's. Not sure he's played the 10. But definitely looks like he has the flair to play a more attacking role.GreennWhite wrote: ↑Thu Aug 31, 2023 6:09 pm I had thought about Gray playing a bit further forward. It's actually a good time for new signings. 2 week international break after Saturday.Orange Box wrote: ↑Thu Aug 31, 2023 6:16 pm Kammy’s not going to be match fit til October. He’s reportedly been training on his own away from Ibrox so no chance he’s ready.
