Glen Kamara

Post by Cjay »

27 year old Finland International midfielder.

Originally made his name at Dundee before he moved to Rangers and became a key part of Steven Gerrard title winning Rangers side of 2020/2021.

He remained a key player the following season but has fallen out of favour over the last 12months.

Known for his ability to carry the ball and also his ability to protect the back 4.

He is a solid if unspectacular player capable of playing box to box and sitting midfield.

Bit odd this, he's been available all summer and everyone knew it.

So not sure why we waited if we wanted him.

Good we need Kamara in, we are currently operating with only Ampadu & Gray in the middle of the park, very lightweight in that area.

I reckon we make late signings to save on salaries, I'm probably completely wrong.

Kamara not the first choice, simple answer to CJay's question. He also has the release clause meaning he is an easy negotiation... He'd do a job for us..

I've also been wondering the same myself about him.

Apparently cost Rangers £50,000 from the Arse i think, did Steve Gerrard just find a sweet spot for him ?

For 5m these days it's nowt, but i am left wondering about him, but it's the Championship and it could work out if he feels it's the right move for him, but yeah, why's it taking so long.

Jeez our clown paid 5m for Gyabi
Still being proven right years on.
Radz is a businessman - and knows nowt about football.
Orta is a fraud - and knows nowt about footballers.
Bert - A footballing mastermind that they both got lucky with, end of.

Sometimes i just cant believe peoples thoughts on here. If we buy a player early its seen as i knee jerk reaction, if we hold off its then seen as desperation and why did it take so long.

Was merely expressing curiosity over why if he was the midfielder we wanted why wait all summer when its well known Ranger have wanted rid

But yet again you dont fully know why we have waited this long, you dont know exactly what has been going on between the 2 clubs so you call it odd and strange.
Why not just say glad to see another player coming in to bolster the squad, we all know we need players in.
Yet again to have to put a negative spin on things.

Whats the point of Kamara?

Post by Duncanmckenzie »

Think it will be money down the drain if we buy him, he looks pretty average and dont see where he fits in. We have enough attacking players to give any team problems in this division. What we need is more quality in defence and holding midfield. We need to be more resolute and difficult to play against, at the moment we’re far too open and easy to break down.

Have you seen our squad's depth over the years? We're still very much thin. Bit of a daft question imo, he'd bring something even if he ends being a rotation player.

Dont think the question is daft. I was asking is he what we need at this stage and I dont think so and £5 mill is alot. The money could be better spent after all the window is nearly shut and we aint got time for bit part squad players for £5 million.

He’s a central/defensive midfielder isn’t he? An area we’ve always lacked depth in, but specially now with Adams going.

Could be the case danhirons. I was thinking along similar lines, with us being apparently linked with Amiri and Pantsil. Not that they seem to be out of the picture maybe Kamara is the next inline to bolster the squad.
