Re: Premiership debate
Indeed it is, they all know FFP means absolutely nothing, I thought everslum were still under investigation !!
How come teams such as LUFC are trying to stay in the safety zone of FFP, even 3 yrs ahead of any incidents, and others simply don't care ?
Anyhow, they probably don't want / can't afford Gnonto now.

I get confused (easily) between all the Portuguese midfielders at Wolves.
Given Kovacic has played every match since his transfer and city looking in this direction too, then how many more hints does Phillips need to know about his future?

If City do get another midfielder in before the transfer window closes, then i wouldnt be one bit surprised to see Phillips leave.

Are they confident they will land him, 1/3 to stay at City with a Liverpool move at 5/2.

Needs to be a big fish in a smaller pond. Leeds was perfect for him...

So have Brighton found another gem?
Brighton have signed Cameroon-born midfielder Carlos Baleba on a five-year deal for 27m euros (£23.2m) from French side Lille.
The 19-year-old only made his Lille debut 12 months ago but has forged an impressive reputation.
Baleba will fill the hole left by Ecuador midfielder Moises Caicedo, who joined Chelsea from Brighton for a British record £115m.
Seagulls boss Roberto de Zerbi said: "He will be the future of the club."

Re: Premiership debate
In the books for FFP it will be spread out over the length of the contract so will be say £5m for 5 years. They probably evened it out by selling Ellis Simms to Coventry for around £5m. That would even this years payment out and then they worry about next years in a years time.mentalcase wrote: ↑Tue Aug 29, 2023 1:13 pm Everslum sign beko for £25million

Aston Villa get France centre-back Clement Lenglet signed on a season-long loan from Barcelona, although there is no option to buy.

Chelsea have signed England Under-21 forward Cole Palmer from Manchester City for an initial £40m.
The deal includes a further £2.5m in add-ons and the 21-year-old has signed a seven-year contract with the option of a further year.
Palmer was part of the England side which won the European Under-21 Championship earlier this summer, and is a product of the City academy.

Manchester City have completed the signing of midfielder Matheus Nunes from Wolves for £53m.
The deal includes a 10% sell-on clause for Wolves from any profit City make on the 25-year-old in future.
The Portugal international, who has 11 caps for his country, has signed a five-year contract with City.

They have a lot of time to increase that and it's peanuts to them... 200M would be hard to turn down but would leave Liverpool in rebuildBarlow Boy wrote: ↑Fri Sep 01, 2023 12:26 pm Liverpool receive bid in region of £150M for Salah from Saudi, rejected.

Re: Premiership debate
It’s a tough one for Liverpool, a 31 year old player who they can sell for £175M to £200M but then having to resort to a complete rebuild with the loss of the likes of Henderson, Fabinho etc already. The Subhuman wrote: ↑Fri Sep 01, 2023 1:14 pm They have a lot of time to increase that and it's peanuts to them... 200M would be hard to turn down but would leave Liverpool in rebuild
The bookies think he’ll stay, I’m not so sure, particularly with as you say the Saudi window open a little longer yet.

There's a thought the Saudi league teams should get at least one team in the Champions league, they'd have to abide by FFP rules thenBarlow Boy wrote: ↑Fri Sep 01, 2023 1:24 pm It’s a tough one for Liverpool, a 31 year old player who they can sell for £175M to £200M but then having to resort to a complete rebuild with the loss of the likes of Henderson, Fabinho etc already.
