That front 3 for instance, on form it should be Summerville, Rodrigo, Gnonto. For what we spent it should be Rutter, Rodrigo, Sinisterra because if you spend big money on players (for us) then they should be starting...

As for those subs, will they be pre-planned to accommodate the talent? "Bamford gets 30 minutes, ditto Aaronson etc. Does he go full Ranieri? Making 4/5 changes per game constantly tinkering with the line up?
No he probably isn't, but I live in hope we will get a decent manager eventually.

That manager will hopefully be able to manage that situation.

Different opponents call for different players for example.

Against a Man City you probably need lots of pace and energy.

So you go maybe Aaronson, Adams and McKennie (of he comes) in a 3 with Rutter up top supported by one of Sinisterra, Gnonto and Summerville for the pace.

But against a more defensive and physical opponent maybe you go for Adams and Aaronson in a 2 (know Aaronson isn't physical but a more attacking partner for Adams).

With Bamford and Rodrigo and Harrison and Summerville for the workrate and slightly more physical nature.

Good managers should pick the player for the opponent and that is where depth plays a part.

It's not a problem.

Just get Jesse on the phone and remind McKennie that if Jesse had had Rodrigo when he was younger then Rodders would be one of the best in the world.

That could be you Weston.

Arsenal makes more sense for him tbh, even if we matched them for money. Assuming any of it is actually true

Seriously. Both are fantastic young players. Gio Reyna better fits the model of a No. 10 that most fans on here have been looking for. Obvioulsy Jesse just wants 3 hard working midfielders behind 3 attackers.

Jesse, Adams, and Aaronson will probably swing this in our favour. Plus we guarantee him first team football. He'd probably be more of a long term project at Arsenal.

To add hope . . .

Having had a Google the Italian website that reported the Arsenal stuff (all be it it has a large following on Social media, it is not considered top tier for reliability.

Gianluca Di Marzio and Fabrizio Romano are (both only talking about our interest).

That doesn't mean we will get him.

But those two especially for Italian football are the best connected journalists around.

Looking like this McKennie transfer has been a sheer waste of time.

Picking players for the opponent is tinkering. The initial basis for selection is fitness and form. Tactics may change for an opponent and player instructions, but not necessary the personnel.

Changing players to give your side a different option against a side whose particular weakness may be exploited better by a certain player is perfectly logical imo.

Tinkering for the sake of it though I'd agree is unnecessary.

But using Rutter up front who Is far more likely to be able to exploit Liverpool for example and there slow and high defensive line over someone like Rodrigo who doesn't have the pace or strength to do that is sensible.

Leeds 'convinced' on McKennie
Leeds are ‘convinced’ that they are leading the race to sign Juventus star Weston McKennie, with Arsenal and Tottenham also interested in acquiring his services.

That's according to Sky Sports journalist Luca Cilli, who claims they have tabled a £24.5million bid for the midfielder and are not willing to up their bid any further despite Juventus’ asking price of £30.7m.
