No he probably isn't, but I live in hope we will get a decent manager eventually.faaip wrote: ↑Thu Jan 26, 2023 10:04 am But is Marsch good enough to manage those options?
That front 3 for instance, on form it should be Summerville, Rodrigo, Gnonto. For what we spent it should be Rutter, Rodrigo, Sinisterra because if you spend big money on players (for us) then they should be starting...
As for those subs, will they be pre-planned to accommodate the talent? "Bamford gets 30 minutes, ditto Aaronson etc. Does he go full Ranieri? Making 4/5 changes per game constantly tinkering with the line up?
That manager will hopefully be able to manage that situation.
Different opponents call for different players for example.
Against a Man City you probably need lots of pace and energy.
So you go maybe Aaronson, Adams and McKennie (of he comes) in a 3 with Rutter up top supported by one of Sinisterra, Gnonto and Summerville for the pace.
But against a more defensive and physical opponent maybe you go for Adams and Aaronson in a 2 (know Aaronson isn't physical but a more attacking partner for Adams).
With Bamford and Rodrigo and Harrison and Summerville for the workrate and slightly more physical nature.
Good managers should pick the player for the opponent and that is where depth plays a part.
