Cjay wrote: Sat Jan 14, 2023 10:27 pm General consensus seems to be he is more of a second striker than a 9.

But then again so is Rodrigo, we don't really play a proper 9.

Rutter, Summerville/Gnonto and Sinisterra would give any team issues

Whether the consistency of performance is there or the end product then who knows.
Depends on the definition of a 9, big strong bloke good in the air is out dated these days, it's more a natural predator and that describes Rodrigo perfectly

God knows if the lad is any good but for some reason it feels like a relief that he is confirmed. Blood him straight in The first 11 and hopefully destroy Brentford this weekend.

Now we we know who paid for it

Well it's a big outlay and we haven't really got value for money with our big signings so far. We can't afford for it not to work it, so a lot of pressure on the kid. Let's hope he can handle it.

Depends on who is classed as big signings, but I’d suggest Adams has been well worth the money.

Jeez that photo with the 49er's Hoodie makes me puke, he's a fcking fraud and trying to impress the new majority owners to keep his job.

Give me £40m and i'll spend it well on a gamble.

FCK OFF CLOWN ASAP YA DICK.

I think it is because he wasn't signed prior to the original match.

Agent looks happier than Rutter

Thinking of that sweet sweet agents fee.
Don't knock that, there's absolutely every reason in my eyes where our Clown is involved.

So when and where on the pitch do we think he will play? Personally I’d take Aaronson out and start Rutter behind Rodrigo vs Brentford. In reality I expect to see a few 5 minute cameos or panic subs for a few weeks.

He's a ten for me not a striker like Rodrigo. Aaronson should be playing right

7 - Summerville/Aaronson
9 - Rodrgo/Bamford
10 - Rutter/Sinisterra/Gnonto
11 - Sinisterra/Gnonto/Harrison

He's a similar profile to Gnonto actually whose primarily played as a second striker.

Similar to De Ketelaere to and Gakpo.

So depends where they had in mind for them.

I can still see him being used as a false 9.

So Rodrigo position but drifting and dropping wide etc.

Don't like false 9 as a term, dropping deeper as a 9 or going wide is nothing new for 9. Leeds were doing it with Mick Jones in the seventies. Malcom McDonald too.

Sporting Life piece that maybe of interest.
Nothing we don’t already know I suppose.
Some good stats on the dribbling front
