First day on holiday & I’ve got 16 mozzie bites, b*##*#**s. High humidity & rain showers overnight seem to bring them out. At one stage I had a mozzie graveyard on the arm of the sun lounger.

I have to redecorate the bedroom every winter as there are 200 plus mozzies splattered around the walls

As a child my next door neighbour who was 3 years older than me rushed in one day excited to show me his new trick, he opened an empty match box, cornered a fly on the window, got it in the box, lit a match, shoved it in the box thus knocking the fly out, opened the box after a few seconds and showed me the fly now sleeping (if not cremated) then we waited (on his advice) for the fly to come round with the matchbox still closed, then after a few minutes the fly awoke and on opening the box flew off.

My immediate thought was : " who the fcking hell is gonna want to operate on a fly?"

Wife filmed this strange insect a few days ago in the forest, and after some research with google lens we came to the conclusion that it was a parasitic wasp
