Doing the maths, it seems like a couple will miss out on the match squad and didn't play in the 21's either.

So I was surprised that a couple of people like Joffy and Hjelde didn't get some 21's minutes.

Maybe Farke sees better value in having everyone available to train together.
It's a curious one ... We seem to be allowing a greater gap to form between the first team and the 21's ... For instance our #3 and #4 goalkeepers seem to be in limbo assuming fitness. Ombang and Christy preferred for the 21's..

No Monteiro either

Maybe as it was a cup game we fielded a weakened team the way we do for first team cups...

Don't forget to update us all with who's ripping up trees

Strikes me DF's found all the yoof he feels he can use from Ortas garbage in Gray, but i'm pretty sure he wasn't Ortas.

I'll look forward to it.
Still being proven right years on.

I'm not sure that gap can be large enough myself.

Reasonably strong side given the first team game tomorrow, Gyabi, Monteiro and McGurk involved.

And Bate. But obviously none of those considered part of first team squad. Even with a depleted squad, Monteiro and McGurk weren't considered for empty seats on the bench.

One I'm surprised by is Hjelde. Hasn't been on the bench for a couple of games and hasn't been with the 21's either.

McGurk looks really lively. He's ready for first team football somewhere. Could see a loan for him in January.

Also questions over what happens now for Bate, Gyabi, and Hjelde.

The goalie doesn’t give me much hope, not seen him before, hope it doesn’t destroy the lad’s confidence.

Ombang. Been in the system for at least a couple of years. We keep switching up goalies. Christy and Van de Heuvel have played this season. Klaessen is 3rd choice with 1st team. Never a chance of a look in. Surprised he doesn't get some time with 21's

Reading U21s 3-2 Leeds United U21s

Post by BlancdeBlanc »

Showing a bit of spirit, back to 3-1 but suspect Reading are sitting back now.
