Premier League 2 season gets underway!

Leeds United’s Under-21s begin their Premier League 2 Division 2 campaign away at Derby County on Friday night, getting underway at 7pm.

Both teams are looking to bounce back from the disappointment of relegation last season from Premier League 2 Division 1 and will be aiming to begin this campaign with a morale boosting victory.

The Whites won the division the last time they were at this level, gaining promotion as champions in 2020/21 after an impressive season. The hosts have not seen their U21s side play at this level since 2015/16, having spent six years at the top table.

Great first half. And a great start for Joseph. A complete drop in standard compared to what they faced last season. And I'm sure Derby with their problems won't be the best team we'll face this season.

That lineup is far from being our best U-21 lineup, although Dan James is the obvious ringer.

I think Ombang is our 5th choice goalie. Van De H and Klaesson injured and Christy probably first team cover tomorrow

Several of our potential loan exits could have played, but none are involved. Likes of Costa, Poveda, McCalmont. Also Max Dean? There was word he might be heading out on loan too.

Other players could have been involved but probably covering 1st team: Summerville, Hjelde (injured), Drameh, Sutcliffe (not sure of his status),

Inspiring start. Maybe we'll top the league again like we did 2 years ago. Expect Luca Thomas to make an impact this season too
