Harrison and James for sure will be starting, likely for forshaw and gelhardt - unless we make a new signing to play up front with paddy.

Depressingly the squad minus raph and KP is now weaker than it was last season

Seeing Firpo and Cooper in our starting line up just fills me with dread. Would much rather see those two swapped with Hjelde and Koch or Struijk

You see James playing up front with Paddy and no DMF ...interesting, I think Aronson is a direct Harrison replacement in the new formation, it was Jack that played the left sided AMF for JM last season and BA seems a better fit.

Pretty certain there will be at least two, if not three, players still to com who will figure prominently.

Mapping it out as you did, faiip, demonstrates the absolute necessity of that happening.

Roca at DMF

I would actually see Aaronson playing where Rodrigo played

Not entirely sure where everyone fits in right now as I'm sure we'll have some more signings coming (otherwise we're getting relegated)

I'd see Roca at DMF with what we have right now, Harrison on the left, Paddy up front - Aaronson floating somewhere between Roca and Paddy, James either up front with Paddy or on the right + Rodrigo or hopefully a new signing. Seems a bit light in centre mid if we played Aaronson and Rodrigo there...going to be interesting to see how they all fit in + hopefully a KP and Raphinha replacement

Right now, we are nowhere near ready for the new campaign.

With the imminent departures of Raphinha & Phillips, we require at least another five signings.

A very good post faaip, very interesting, and obviously shows our weaknesses now, we still need additions in certain areas.
It will probably depend on how the pre-season games go, then JM will have a better idea.
The thought of starting firpo and forshaw dosen't excite me on iota, neither does rodrigo, looks like a threadbare squad not good enough for the PL at moment, can't say anything about the new boys, hopefully they will gel with whom ever else is put in around them, I fully expect DJ & JH to play starting roles.
I don't know JM's system as yet, as I say, pre-season ought to be a good indicator, shame the blackpool game is in York.

I wonder what Jesse will do with Roberts and Rodrigo.

Never mind Shacks, Costa, Poveda, Bogusz and Davis

I want to see Bogusz in pre-season matches.

He looked ready two seasons ago to me, but we just keep loaning him out.

I don't know but I guess if you look at any prem side there's gonna be surplus to requirement players. Most teams must have 50 players on their books at various levels. A lot of ours arrived and would probably still have been useful, while we were in the Championship.

Some you make a big profit on, some you lose on.. I'd keep both Roberts and Rodrigo, who's a starter atm for a third season as it stands. We were never making a profit on a 29 yr old we were hoping to keep for 3/4 seasons,

I'm never attached to a footballer so much I'm sorry to see them go (most here know I was a massive Roofe fan, defended him wholeheartedly, got sold and don't think I ever mentioned him again til now probably,) but while they're at Leeds I'll support them as fully as possible. If they wear the white, they're Leeds..

There are very very few players I've not liked in the white, probably the biggest was Ross McCormack.. Billy Paynter tried my patience too

Two years into Rods contract and no one seems in rush to tie him down.

If we buy another striker I wonder where Rod fits in?
Though many of us assume that Bamford will be starting.
I wonder, especially if we spend some of the Raph/ KP money on a striker.

I think that's fine, he'll be 33 and probably a free unless someone wants to pay for him in the meantime ... You want to buy to profit later you start at 18 yr olds up to maybe 23/24 ... after that a sell on profit seems less and less likely

Thanks for mapping that out Faaip. definitely looks lightweight to me still and highlights that we need some more players in to cover the departure of KP and Raph. I don't think Ayling will be on the bench for the start of the season, but I could be wrong. But if he is out still, and with Dallas many months away, we look very lightweight in the fullback area. I wonder if we have plans to keep Cody?

I believe Rodrigo will remain at Leeds for at least another season, unless we receive a silly offer for him.

There are less effective players on our books than Rodrigo.

We are very lightweight right now, Lumi. We can't afford to go down the same road as last season.
