Stokes and Foakes gone, we're into a fairly weak tail and 62-6

After two decent batting performances it seems England are returning to form again today.

Once again, our top order batsmen out cheaply handing over the responsibility to Root, Stokes & Bairstow having to deal with a relatively new ball.

Overton on 70, just hit a glorious 6 followed by a sublime 4, last 50 runs off 30 balls.

Another 4 and he's on 74, Bairstow on 88.

204-6 off 37

Fortune favours the brave yet again, entertain us.

If we'd shut up shop at 55/6 and tippy tappy, does anyone think we'd have got to 100 ?

Would we fck.

Only Geoffrey Boycott.

My humble apologies guys n gals and i know i shouldn't be bringing Bert up on a boring England cricket thread.

But this isn't boring.

I think we can safely refer to English cricket from now on as the new Bertball game.

Headingley anorl.

Just about recovered from Friday at Headingley

England should have this one in the bag now, I'd have expected a collapse in the past but their attitude should see them through. Kiwis not been that great either!

Entertain us, play to your strengths.

Absolutely fantastic Bertball from the English cricketers, why ask a player of Bairstows quality to play like Geoffrey Boycott when it's just not in his locker, go with your natural game, superb effort Johnny and the team, we need more off this in ALL English sport.

Could Boycott ever hit like Johnny, no, but he could occupy the crease, some can some can't.

Great day.
