3 potential successors

Post by Cjay »

For Marcelo Bielsa named by the ever reliable Mike McGrath.

Nobody has been approached but its only right the club make plans.

American former Red Bull Salzburg and Leipzig manager Jesse Marsch.

Had a bery successful spell with the New York Red Bulls.

Then had 2 consecutive League and cup doubles with Red Bull Salzburg as well as leading them to the Champions league group stages for the first time ever.

And then a less successful 5 month spell at Leipzig.

Ernesto Valverde (my pick when the question was asked on here)

Took over from Bielsa at Bilbao and did better in every respect frankly. Scored more goals, conceded fewer and got more points. He took them back to the Champions league and won the first trophy they had managed in 30 years.

So he has a track record of replacing Bielsa and the pressure that brings and improving on it. He also won two league titles at Barcelona so has dealt withthe pressure of being there to.

Finally Carlos Corberan.

Done an ok job at Huddersfield, they currently sit 5th, although truth be told they could easily drop as far as 10th with everyone from 6-10 having at least 1 game in hand and only 4 points separating Huddersfield from 10th.

Actually a 32% win percentage is grim

Style similar to MB presumably.

He would be for me by far the most underwhelming and biggest risk.

So what we think?
