YEP not good for Leeds news. Usually foreign press and Athletic that get everything.

Would agree about the YEP. Graham Smythe comes accross as someone with no footballing connections and the one stood outside peering through the window when the other journalists are all inside. YEP have been abysmal since Phil Hay left.
Re: January 2022 transfer speculation and squad discussion
I agree but I would expect Smyth is certain otherwise he wouldn't have commented like most of the other rumours

Does seem odd but noticeable that Anderson hasn't commented either way
If it was true surely he would back up his mate?
Edit. A Belgian journalist has dismissed it to now, non starter mate.

Rumours Barcelona are interested in Rodrigo still. I'd take £15m plus Puig and Ruiz-Atil.

If true Barcelona are interested in Rodrigo. Then get Rid straight away see if they do a deal for a midfielder in exchange

The Times saying us, Burnley and Newcastle want Jason Knight for £8m from Derby. https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/derb ... s22wz?t=ie
£8m seems excessive given their predicament. Also how many players have we been linked with along with Burnley and Newcastle? I doubt we're shopping in the same market as them.

According to SSN, we're stepping up our attempts to sign a midfielder this week.
Yeah and I'll believe it when I see it!

We bought James for £25m and would then sell Phillips for £33.4m...???WhiteRose wrote: ↑Sat Jan 15, 2022 10:53 pm Latest nonsense doing the rounds: Liverpool are readying a £33.4m bid for Leeds United ace Kalvin Phillips… Phillips is stated to be ‘considering a change of heart’ regarding his long-term future at his boyhood club.
Real Madrid also interested according to same article.
He is still in contract for 2.5 more seasons so can’t see why on earth clubs or indeed the hacks of the press think we would sell for a figure that low when we turned down 30m when in championship.

Not about how much we paid for James. It's about how much Arsenal paid for White (50) a player with less experience at club and county level and not in the same class. 50M would be the starting point for Pool to even contact us ...

Id hope to have one in by Wednesday to do murderball on Thursday so he can play vs Newcastle.
Our lack of preparation this January has been pathetic.

Are we still doing murderball after all these injuries? Jesus wept. There's a reason they're all calf/hamstring related. Why not just let the lads have a day off to go bowling or something?

Anyone else see a report that a deal has been agreed for Nicolas Raskin?

I think beating Burnley made the club think they could gamble.
It's plainly clear now that the club had no plan in place and no targets lined up and down the line.
So did beating Burnley on the 2nd make them think they would be OK?
I am shocked not to have a midfielder in for Newcastle, I am more shocked that we seem to be no further forward than we were on January 1st.
The lack of forward planning this January has been so poor.
Look at other clubs, Villa, Newcastle, Everton, Watford, Wolves.
If you have problems in your squad then you should rectify them, we are seemingly incapable of signing a midfielder? It's been 3.5 transfer windows now.

Why are you shocked? It was obvious we weren't going to sign anyone.Cjay wrote: ↑Tue Jan 18, 2022 3:13 pm I think beating Burnley made the club think they could gamble.

Just hope we don't panic buy O'Brien for £15m or something!
Not a fan of what Villa are doing btw.
