Poor IMHO, Xhaka should have walked, not even a card, then books us for a less violent challenge, top 6 syndrome

My score is -2

Agreed, inconsistency at its worse, other than that didn't seem to do much else wrong

Think Xhaka’s challenge should have been a yellow.

Is it not time the officials were held accountable, and had to say why they fooked up?
I would love to hear the VAR conversations...

He wasn't inconsistent mate, he was doing what he's been told to do, give us fk all and card us for everything, the PL don't like us simple

Thought he was terrible.
In fact the standard of refereeing this season has overall been terrible.
There are so many aspects of the game (football) that could be improved and would make for a much better experience, if the refs would just enforce the rules.
I'm fast becoming a proponent of having an off the field time keeper control the time and stop the clock for injuries, substitutions and when the ball goes out of play. I believe it would look like a new game (for the positive). It would remove all the current antics that all teams are involved in to waste time.
The other day the Wolves striker gets a second yellow card for standing in front of the ball and preventing the free kick being taken quickly. Xaka does it today and the referee does nothing and Klich is reprimanded by the commentator for deliberately trying to kick the ball at Xaka and maybe get him a card. (see my first point).
VAR is becoming a joke. If any contact is made in the penalty area and the attacker falls over it is an automatic penalty. The Leicester penalty the other day when Madison ran at a defender then dived over his leg before the defender made a challenge was a 100% obvious dive. No it wasn't, because VAR deemed it the correct call. How can they be so wrong?

Andre Mariner 2/10.

Watching Newcastle v Man City this morning and it is very apparent that there are two sets of rules for every game. One for the big clubs, and one for everyone else.

Maybe the refs have been told to keep the rich six sweet so they don't propose to go AWAL again from The Premier league.

One thing is for sure, the standard of refereeing is appalling.

Awful again.
Xhaka's challenge was premeditated in retaliation to the skirmish with Klich over the free kick. Should have been a red.
