Steve Gerrard Gerrard. He's a English manager so i hope he does well, but its up there will Ollie at the wheeeeel for me. Not sure what he has really done to deserve a shot at a club like Villa.

TBH, I’d be delighted if I was a Villa fan. Rangers fans must be spewing.

We've had similar issues under Bielsa.

First with Hernandez.

Now with KP.

And probably with Raph id imagine.
Remember their promotion season , mid table until Grealish came back , so reliant on him it's showing now . Poor side without , a player that is hard to replace . I think Gerrard has taken a huge gamble here , could tarnish his managerial career as Wankhard did at Chelscum( 😂😂😂) . Still Wankhard hasn'.t returned to management , seems linked to every job going though but it never happens , I think he was mentioned re the Norwich job but I think he would be suited more to Northwich Victoria .

Big gamble for Slippy Steve with this job , unlike the Rangers job getting the sack is a distinct possibility with this one . Being a Hibs fan in the past I've always kept a casual eye onthe Villa result due there being a connection with players like Alex Cropley, Des Bremner and more recently John McGinn moving from Hibs to Villa . It's a decent move for him but now he's going to be a medium sized fish in a very big pond with plenty sharks for company

And a special word for Hernandez, god do I (and our team) miss him. Some of those passes in that reel there are sublime.
Knew there would be an excuse and tbf you're probably right.

Under Dean Smith, I felt Villa were heading for relegation after their recent performances, not so sure now!

Watkins scores a stunner, just goes to show what a Villa player can do by staying on one's feet.

Is Gerrard Villa's saviour?

I personally think that Gerrard will do a decent job and keep Villa mid table or above.

Cant fault the ambition (this is another club who publicly stated they want European football).

Dont fancy the chances of a venture capital fund

That being said serious James Rodriguez vibes here and watched Countino a lot over his Barcelona years . . . This isnt 2014 Coutinho.

Class player, still only 29yo, may enhance his career back in the Premier League.

Would you or anyone else on here been happy taking a punt on Coutinho?
